First Guitar

So recently I decided that I wanted to play guitar and was given a Yamaha Pacifica and an old amp. Now, I don't have any skills what-so-ever and I've just downloaded Guitars for Dummies and another video to try to help me out. But, what I'm asking is if anyone knows of any hints/tips or websites that would be useful in my learning.

Guitar Pro is a fantastic computer program for downloading guitar tabs and transcribing your own.

Guitar Pro is a great program. Also, Ultimateguitar.com is great for tabs and chords as well. Make sure to check that out.

G D E, F C D <~~~~~~ Freebird all you need because once you say you play guitar every one only wants to hear free bird.

Also a good tip i can offer is finger exorcizes so your fingers get used to moving fluid on the fret board,
