The only way to quit is to A) want to do it for yourself have some self control Its all up to you bro there is no special technique to quit. That is all I have to say. [/quote] Couldn't have said it better myself! YES, nicotine is addictive but I've never known even a hard-core smoker have withdrawals or the same problems as a ciggie smoker. Most likely, you can just decide to quit and quit. I think for a lot of us, smoking is psychological addicting, we find relaxation in the routine and social interaction. [/quote] I totally know about quitting haha. I smoked cigarettes since i was 15 and quit last january still have the ability to have one very rarely and not get addicted. I smoked hookah daily and quit cold turkey because i had no pipe. Im not planning on giving up smoking but I have no pipe. But yeah just takes self control. Just a week or two back, I broke my crown micro phunnel and then tried smoking with an egyptian bowl. Couldn't stand it so I didn't smoke for about 10 days till my new crown phunnel came. I missed the whole experience as it's kind of an escape to me but I didn't face any withdrawal symptoms or anything. So if you want to cut down, then cut down. You will be fine imo. [/quote] Stop smoking on the weekdays. And on a more helpful note, if you can't "just stop", then you're addicted to something. Although, the term addicted is used very loosely in this case. I'm on vacation right now, and this will be my 3rd day without hookah. No biggie. I went to GA for two weeks at the beginning of summer, I was fine. Everyone in my family has addictive personalities, including myself, and not once have I yet to have trouble dropping hookah for X amount of time. Also, from the way you worded it, it sounds like you didn't even try to cut back before asking us? It's not a challenge, really. thatonethere Posted August 10, 2011 Share Posted August 10, 2011 I recommend smoking smaller bowls of tobacco each day, and then gradually shortening your sessions until you cut out 1 day per week, and less bowls, for example, if you start out with 1 alien bowl / day, extend that bowl out for 2 days by shortening your sessions. Eventually, you'll be using less baccy per week. Then start skipping one day at a time / week. If this works on the first week, skip 2 days and continue cutting back on tobacco.
