How Often Should We Really Clean?

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just got a new 30'' Nammor, and want to make sure I am going to make it last the longest it possibly can. Should I wash all of it ever time I smoke (just about ever night), or just the bowl and vase?

Thanks to most for the advice! I do have another question though...sense it is a Nammor and it is welded together, whats the best way to let the Heart of the shaft dry to prevent rusting? Will letting it air dry be enough?

How often do you wash the dishes you eat off of?

This is how I treat my hookah gear. Right when I get done smoking, I rinse out my vase and take the shank into the bathtub and fully rinse out all openings. Then I dry the outside of my vase and the outside of the shank and let the inside of both air-dry for several hours. Then put away. Bowl gets washed right when coal bits are taken off, scrubbing it with a good sponge with soap and thoroughly rinsing it off, then allowing it to air-dry as well. Hose I blow through and hang it up from my ceiling fan for several hours.

Now for deepcleaning, I do that every once in a while. I'd say like once a month. I do the same as above, but just use baking soda and lemon juice on top of just using water. My washable hoses rarely get washed, but if they do, it's with water, baking soda, and lemon juice.

Yes. Just rinse it out with water then let it sit to dry. If you can/want to, prop it up so gravity will do the work faster. I tend not to do this often, as I don't really have a proper way to set my shank up vertically. I kinda just have to prop it up against my cabinet on the kitchen counter, and that makes me uneasy. Especially with the vase right beside it turned upside down.

You won't have to be too worried about rusting on a Nammor hookah. I just let mine air out on the dish rack and it's great!
