Best Hookah I Can Get New For $60 Or Less?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I have another question, what a surprise lol. I'm looking to buy a new, nicer hookah. I'm not exactly swimming in money at the moment, so I want to spend at the max about $60. What do you guys think? To me, the only thing that matters is it has to smoke very well. Thanks! :)

My personal favorite is the QT (more specifically the stem style that comes with the two-hose package on H-S).

I really like the look of the Mya QT and I'm leaning that way. The only issue I would have is the only negative anyone ever talks about with it... How the bowl holds on the tray. Is it really that big of a deal? I read that the grommet is covered by the bowl anyway so it's not like a coal could damage it through the bowl, could it?

I've been using a mya qt for quite some time now, and no, the issue you are talking about really is a non issue. I've no problems with the stability of the tray, not when using the grommet, and not when using wet paper towel in place of the grommet.

The issue that sometimes does bother me though is that the tray is very small, and often, if a coal falls off the bowl, the tray doesn't catch it. Good thing I keep it on the marble floor when I smoke, otherwise, there could be some problems. And I don't even have a drill, but I am looking to borrow it from someone to bore a hole in a larger steel tray and then use that.

Nevermind, those are more than 60. If you have local shops, you can sometimes find basic KMs for 60, and yes, everyone else's suggestions re: a small Mya are good too

Out of those listed, I've personally owned the QT, Mini, and Petite. I liked the QT best.

i second this, you really should invest into a large tray.save your coals from hitting the floor most of the time

So you guys really like the QT for an inexpensive hookah? I'm here (mainly lurking and reading too many posts LOL) trying to over educate myself before getting my first hookah. I see a lot of people raving about the QT and that gets a lot of positive reviews on the retail sites. I also have always wanted one that would look really nice as home decor (maybe I've watched Alice in Wonderland too many times) so have been looking at ones that range between 12" and 24" (preferably between 18" and 24", I KNOW size doesn't matter.....). What about the Mya econo line?

Having owned both, an econo QT and a QT, I'd say that they smoke the same, more or less, but the materials used in the econo line are nowhere near as good as the ones in their normal line. The plating on my econo QT started coming off after just a few washes (and I was new to hookah at the time and didn't wash it as much), whereas I wash my QT twice every day and it's still good as new. Real heavy shank and a sturdy base! So even though they smoke the same, their normal line is way way better than the econo line.

I personaly don't like myas... another option is a used KM. You can check trade sections.
[/quote]

That is actually a pretty good idea, km's are great large hookahs and almost everybody has at least 1. So their bound to go up for sale around here

This is always my suggestion, although it depends on where you are. Around here $60 will get you 2 small egyptians that are larger than a QT and I would prefer over a QT any day. Or 1 egyptian and $30 left over to go towards tobacco, coal, a hose and coil burner.
