web250
Ok, I'm most likely putting in my order for a hookah (my first) this weekend, and I have two choices:1) Hookah-shisha.com Crown (Mya QT). $50 2) Social Smoke Sirius I (28" Eyptian). $81With both I would buy extra coals/tobacco/etc.Which do you all recommend. Right now I'm leaning QT due to price, size, and stellar reviews from this site.If I go QT also, if you can, recommend me 2 Romann flavors and an AF flavor please. Ain Soph Aur
For a first hookah I would go with something in the normal size. Thats just me though.

Simply to be traditional? I don't mind straying from traditional, so long as I'm using a functional hookah
Ain Soph Aur
No because I would think a larger size hookah would be easier. I would think getting a good smoke out of a QT would need some experience?

I've packed my own bowls, I know what I'm doing.

skiracerj1
ive got the qt and my friend has the 28" from social, both are nice, but I prefer the qt, it actually seems to smoke better. You wont regret either one, but the QT is the way to go imho

EvansLight
i would reccomend a large one for your first, then the QT for your second. As much as i want one as well, i wanted a Larger hookah for my first for things like parties and get togethers with my friends. But the QT still rocks and i want one just for when im on my own. But thats me
skiracerj1
The QT is better for parties in my opinion, because its harder to knock over, and is quite the talking piece
malakas
I agree with EvansLight. Think about how you'll be using the hookah. If you're going to be taking the bad boy with you to parties and such with friends, go ahead and grab the bigger one, but if you want one for some quality alone time, go with the mya. skiracerj1
ok, I feel the need to debunk a myth here: The larger hookah doesn't smoke any better than the QT. Yes a larger egyptian will smoke better than a smaller egyptian to a point, however a QT is not an egyptian style and has a different smoke champer, one whos total size rivlas that of a larger egyptian. Me and my friend both smoked the same flavor of tangiers at the same time out of our two hookahs, and my QT produced thicker smoke and lasted just as long. So the larger hookah is no better for large groups than the QT really, and with a 10 dollar adapter the qt can go from one hose to two, so its versatile. DownZero
I think they refer to the larger hookah being more party friendly compared to a mini hookah rather than the smokeability of each. A large hookah can be shared easier because of a long hose and the height helps the stretch of the hose... of course you could buy a long hose for the QT.. but it's a matter of comfort. To me a larger hookah is easier to use with more people since the hose gets around easier, length wise and hookah stability wise. I imagine QTs as a table hookah... and at get togethers, we don't have a table we could use comfortably... only a larger dinner table. =/SS hookahs can also be turned into a 2 hose hookah if one desired. So, I would go for the Social Smoke hookah... because I like bigger hookahs and you can't go wrong with Social Smoke (not that the QT is a bad hookah)Why not consider the SS Aurora.. it's $10 cheaper and it's a bit larger... unless you think it's too big for you taste. I have the Aurora and it's great. I am happy with my purchase.
htdsngup
Ok let me say what i think many ppl think.Large elaborate (i cant speel at all) hookahs looks cooler than little onesI love my QT but to be honest, many ppl at places ur gonna smoke with dont care that "its a really awesome hookah, really, everyone who hookahs knows that"Many ppl just care that u have some big ass hookah that looks cool. Its just fact that when u goto a party, no one cares about that single hose "Bohemian hand blown all brass chromified stem that all washable and can launch a rocket ship and make hot pockets" they just see the other kids 4 hose POS that has a l.e.d light and think its the shit
Teh Owntt
I would go with the QT. Out of all the times I've smoked, smaller hookahs always seem to give me the best smoking experience. But if you want something that looks bad ass, the QT would certainly NOT be the way to go.
aronparsons
QT if you want a simple rig for just yourself. Since I've gotten mine, my larger hookahs sit idle most of the time (except when others are smoking with me).

I'll agree that a really ornate large hookah does look better and is more appreciated, but just a large plain egyptian like the one above, not so much. Like I said I've taken my qt to several parties and it always generates lot of questions and interest. Most everyone has seen midsize hoohahs but the qt is an oddity seldom seen. I will agree the qt is not for everyone though, everyone has different tastes, but at a party or gathering i feel much more secure bringing my qt than my 26" egyptian because its nearly impossible to knock over the qt. web250
In terms of where I'm going to use it, I plan on smoking right around the dorm, probably with a friend or 2.So a pretty relaxed smoking environment, no party atmosphere where I might see the need for a larger piece. PeaceinIsrael
It probibly be easier to move the qt around campus (which will save u many worries and hassels). I know Im a college man too (ASHEVILLE BABY!). Butt when u consider how much cooler (AWESOMNESS) smoking is from a big hookah on a college campus I say SQREW IT!.......so yeah the logical way to go is qt because of limited dorm space, but the superfabuloso impulsive thing to do is buy the bigger one ROCKON! NorthEastSmoker
I have a 28" Syrian and the QT.. I smoke the QT 90% of the time now, and only pull the big guy out when I have more than 1 friend over. The QT smokes just as good as the big one, and is SO easy to bring places, set up, and clean. If you're just looking for a hookah to smoke in a dorm with a friend or 2, and you might bring it every once in a while somewhere else, go with the QT. Small, and won't take up much precious space in a dorm room. The last thing I would want to take to a college party is a BIG hookah.. The QT would rock for that.. small, easy to carry or put in a backpack, and a very stable base.

But after that, i would still suggest in getting a larger one, just cause :Pi have the SS Polaris III and its friggin awesome.

Claytron
I have a blue QT. I've been 90% happy with it. It's a great little pipe. Fairly easy to clean. Solid construction. Comes appart pretty easily when cleaning. Though I def wanna replace the head at some point. It's a great small smoker. I paid too much for it in a headshop, but at least it was a quality one.
