Bad Experience With Al-Fakher

Recommended Posts

One more thing guys, can someone identify these stuffs I found in my so call Al-Fakher shisha please. I'm not too sure whether they are tobacco or just some random poop. Picture's below.

The huge piece of thing on the left feels like plastic, but it can be torn. I don't think it's tobacco because the texture and cutting is very different from the tiny piece of tobacco at the middle of the picture. What about the one on the right? Is it the tobacco stem? Should I get rid of them or just throw them all into the bowl?

Are those the contents of your boxed tobacco? Or the loose stuff?

If they are from the box, then don't worry, the one on the left is just a larger leaf of tobacco only. I get them in my AF all the time and just tear it once or twice. The ones on the right are definitely stems. Some people get rid of them and some don't. I usually don't if they are not too big.

Btw, I don't think you should drain any juices from it. I never do and always get great sessions from AF.

Ive had several sessions where it was just too juicy, I mean to the point where it obstucted airflow cos the molasses covered up the holes in the bowl and I just couldnt get decent smoke or flav. from it. So if I see that its too wet I drain it for an hour or so and it gets good. I dont mean dry it up obviously, just so that its not literally dripping all over the place.

The thing is that AF is not so juicy anyway! It doesn't drip much, if it drips at all, so draining it will just kill the flavouring I believe. I use my crown micro anyway so there's no clogging, but even when I used an egyptian or a mod bowl, I never experienced excessive dripping.

The contents are from the loose tobacco i bought from the shop. I just wanna make sure they din't give me a bat wing or an extra lizard tail in my shisha

you must be joking :o its freaking dripping wet at the bottom of whatever container ive had it in, the stuff on top is cool but all of the stuff from the bottom is SOAKED in molasses to the point where it literally drips from my fingers! And if I use that overly wet stuff it sucks, so I drain some molasses from it so its not all wet. Tho sometimes I pour some of the drained molasses over it, but never all of it, its just too much for one 250g bag! And if he got it bagged up not in orig. packaging it could have been waaay too molassy imo... We should meet and compare our AFs one day lol :D

Well, I went back to the store just now to reload and the store owner told me that the loose tobaccos I bought the other day were not Al-Fakher! It was some brand i never heard of in the forums. Then I was wondering what kind of rip-off is this? His worker definitely mentioned Al-Fakher to me that day; to make certain of that, I did ask the person twice.

Sigh, I could have bought a box of AF in the original packaging; however, I chose to buy a pile of loose crap just because it was cheaper. I hate being Chinese at times :(

On the good side, the legit AF I bought from the guy tasted great! Not on par with the ones I had in a hookah bar YET, but VERY tasty compared to the loose stuffs I got. So i'm pretty content right now :D

ahhh, that does explain a lot, you should notice that sessions with actual AF are gonna get really delicious, long and generally pleasant as soon as you get the hang of prepping it all :) good luck on your quest for the ultimate session!
