skiracerj1
So I'm heating up my easy light chinese knock off jap coals and i go to flip the coal and as soon as the other side of the coal hits the burner The coals pops into two pieces and flys 6 inches into the air and one piece lands on my foot (ouch btw!) so just wondering if that has happened to anyone else, it appears that something in the silver coating caused it because around the area of the explosion the coating was bubbled up. So too sumerize, WTF!
malakas
Happens with other quick lights too, Goldens in my experiences. All I can say is stand back a bit when you light them just in case and wear shoes.

skiracerj1
yeah so I've learned, but to be fair I used these coals before when i bought them from socialcmoke and they were just fine, but this seems to be a bad batch as a smaller epsiode of jumpin coal just occured again. DarthHookah
the exploding charcoal. yes, my experience happened with starlites (havent used them since). scared the bejeezus out of me. i guess, in the process of making them quicklights, a small cluster of the accelerant (saltpeter, i believe) formed in one section, causing it to go boom.but for naturals? call an exorcist. gunsboy
3 Kings exploded once, I guess it was wet or something wrong with it but the thing exploded and made multiple burns on the carpet. I could not find all the pieces but it smelled like burnt plastic, there was one piece hiding under the couch ...

skiracerj1
I wasn;t trying to to be racist at all, rather i;m just lazy, and I;m not the only one who has refered to them as jap coals on this forum, however i do apologize if i offended you, and i wont call them that anymore
