Halon
So my dad does a lot of interior woodworking, and right now he's going out to the '21' Club in Manhattan (the speakeasy from the prohibition) and pretty much rennovating the whole place.I'm going with him this Fri.-Tues., and am wondering what cool shit I should see while I'm out there. Never been to NY before.Any cool lounges or markets or famous places or whatever you'd recommend? Anybody from around there? We could meet at a lounge or something. Thanks!TYLER
web250
There's some pretty well-known lounges in the city. Mamlouks and Sahara East come to mindThey'll be expensive though.
jmexx
Very expensive. I popped in to one lounge when I was there, it was 45$ for a session and 20$ to refill. All they had was apricot! It was insanity... complete insanity!
Claytron
I live in NYC since Feb, but never been to any lounges. As for cool shit to do or see... depends what you like I guess. Lots of great food. I'd recommend visiting Times Square just to see the scale of it... cause even as someone who lives here I find it pretty intense every time I'm there. There are awesome museums if you are into that sort of thing. NYC is like every other city except bigger. There isn't a boatload to do unless your lookin for it. There are cool stores, restraunts, museums, galleries, and randome touristy stuff... Again. It really depends on what your looking to do.

looloopoopie
Where in Queens? I'm in Flushing. There is plenty of good food in the city, especially in Chinatown/Lower East Side. One lounge I've been to (don't know if you're 21 yet or not) that's nice is Karma lounge, on 1st ave. between 3rd and 4th. Nice atmosphere and reasonably priced hookahs - 10 bucks for a head. And they use MYA hookahs too :x
SiberianKiss
I recommend the Cozy Cafe. It's a bit expensive, but not as bad as Sahara East. It's $15 per hookah, plus a few dollar service charge and a one drink per person minimum. Definitely not cheap, but it's the city. You might be able to find a cheaper place uptown though. Claytron
It is in Astoria, awesome. I'll definitely check it out. It's a pretty long walk from where I live but a very short train ride.Any more info on it? What's the atmosphere? By the name it looks that they serve food. Do you know what they charge for a head and what brand(s) they stock?I'll try and visit soon and post a review.
