IainUM
from a completely non-biased opinion, fsu has been one of the biggest let downs this year. you guys are starting to turn into us now
mavsfan31
I was mad Va Tech didn't cover the spread. I had a parlay with that bet in it that would have won me crazy money. FSU losing again makes OU's victory look not as impressive now. I was surprised Ohio St showed up to play tonight. They almost had the game, too. The Texas beatdown was a thrill. Seeing all of the empty seats in the third quarter on the Texas side was pretty funny.

The SEC owns the NCAA, and it's only going to get better. The rest of the country may as well drop football as a college sport.

At one time the top three teams in the country were, not just in the SEC, but in one division of the SEC (LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas)! Even lowly Auburn could kick OSU's butt. IainUM
OSU deserved to be in this title game also, this is a serious discussion, hence being in the serious discussion group. i just like college football so much haha
IainUM
he was referring to number 3 in the bcs charts, Oklahoma State University, not ohio state. even UM kicked ohio state's ass and didn't let them in the endzone this season and we finished 6-
gramps
Yeah, I realized that right after I posted. My bad. Ohio State is also a good team. Maybe Oklahoma State did deserve to be there, but you have to judge teams by their best day AND their worst day. On Alabama's worst day they lost in overtime to the number one team. On Oklahoma State's worst day they lost to a mediocre 6-6 team. I think that was the difference.
Tyler
OKST also lost on a day that two of their head coaches died in a plane crash, lets see Bama play with a clear mind if that would ever happen to them. They also lost in double over time. They also actually scored touchdowns. Miami and USF also had a game with only field goals, does that mean they are both epic teams? No, it means they were evenly matched. LSU is better than Bama and I would say OKST is better than LSU but we will never know and you can never argue that LSU or Bama is better than OKST because ESPN has the SEC's cock so far up their ass it is pathetic. I can't wait to see the SEC get their asses whooped in the bowl games.
gramps
We shall see. And to think that until this year I used to pull for Oklahoma State every time they played Oklahoma. I tend to like underdogs. This year was just a flash in the pan for them and things will go back to the usual .500 or less pretty quickly. Six in a row! Tyler
The only good thing about two SEC teams in the BCS is that your streak ends this year as well, no matter what SEC will lose the title game.

[/quote] You can add onto that, that their busses broke down and they got to the stadium just 30 minutes before the game started. That's huge, especially given that it happened away on the road. Lets not forget Bama lost at home. Do you really think they have a shot to beat LSU away in LSU's house? OSU had a strength of schedule that was much more impressive than Alabama. Look at the computer rankings. The SEC is not nearly where the Big XII is. Only one computer has the SEC higher, by just a hair. The other six have the Big XII ahead by a fairly large margin. WILDCATHOOKAH
so if you guys were to propose a new system instead of the bcs how would you do it? I would just make 1 vs 2, 3 vs4, 5 vs 6, 7 vs 8. make those the "BCS games" then have a bowl game for the rest like normal... that seems like the easiest way to fix it IMO
IainUM
tournament style. that would be my way, like in division 2 football. that keeps upsets from lasting. i talked with a friend about this once. his example was boise state's upset of oklahoma i believe a few years ago. sure a lesser team might make an upset, but the chances of them having many upsets and making it to the finals would be a lot slimmer, so you can show which team is really better since they will be repetitively tested

Tyler
OKST is still the best team this year in the nation, and you'll never know because ESPN has the SEC's dicks so far up its ass that it won't make the obvious best matchup.
IainUM
that national championship game was awful. it is boring watching a team that can't even get 100 yards total offence. it was dumb

Tyler
It's called the Big 12 has offense, something the SEC doens't know about which makes it look like they have no defense. There's no way anyone can argue SEC was better than the Big 12 this year without looking like a complete moron.
IainUM
i heard the LSU players were trapped in New Orleans. Someone drew a 50 yard line in front of their bus and now they can't leave!
