Smoking Techniques

I was wondering if anyone had any techniques to share about smoking your hooka. Some websites say you can put ice in the water to cool down the smoke, some say if you put different flavored juices in the vase, the smoke will have a slight hint of the flavor. Are there any other suggestions or has anyone experimented with this?

I have used red wine instead of water once, it does actually give it a little bit of flavor. In most cases, you would want to go with a juice that compliments the flavor. Ex: Double Apple w/ apple juice. Or Strawberry w/some sort of straberry drink. You just want to make sure to clean out your hookah well afterwards, just so it isnt all sticky. As for ice, I always use ice in the water. It helps cool down the smoke really well. And it condenses the smoke quite a bit.

I've used white wine before - though I think it made my girlfriend feel ill. We had an older bottle of reisling sitting in the fridge what I figured would be good for that task - I'd probably not use a reisling again - they're very sweet wines if you're not familiar - and the alcholic sweetness was a bit overwhelming even cut with alot of water - it was fine for me... but it'd have been better with straight water. Again shisha flavor that's appropriate helps too.
