What's Good These Days?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've been on the forum or even smoked for that matter. Now that it's starting to cool off at night I'll be able to start smoking again. My girl doesn't let me smoke in the house because her oldest has really bad asthma. Anyways, what are everyone's favorite brands/flavors these days?

I stick with mainly Tangiers and Nakhla.

Tangiers:
Indian Summer
Static Starlight
any Mint variant
Kashmir Prune
Double Orange

Nakhla:
Double Apple
Mizo Guava
there's a Mizo Raspberry out, but I haven't gotten to try it yet

Wow, I really can't think of a good "real grape" flavor. Tangiers Grape is good, but it's like a grape kool aid or jolly rancher flavor. El Basha Grape is pretty good too.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else.

Tangiers has some bangin' new flavors out. Tangiers is all I smoke these days. Cocomazaya is currently my coal of choice, but others prefer Razans, . Khalil Mamoon, Mya Saray, and a couple other brands are all the rage when it comes to hookahs. NazarHookah just introduced the Farida brand of hookahs, check them out. REALLY nice. Wait, I just remembered, a similar thread was made a while ago, and I posted this:

Welcome back to the hobby!

Your setup sounds good. If the medium phunnel is working good for you, stick with it. A lot of people prefer the small, however, as it saves a good bit on tobacco. That's really the only thing I'd want different from your setup. Everything else sounds good. :)

As for what's new in the hookah industry, a lot has come out since you were last with us I think. Tons of new Tangiers flavors have come out, Coconara made a cube version of their coals, then went back to flats and made a second line called Cocomazaya, a new formula cube-shaped coconut coal. They're what I use now. Hookah-Shisha added Al Tawareg as their cheaper line of tobacco to compliment Romman. New Nakhla flavors- Mizo Raspberry, and their new Mix line- Brandy, Cosmopolitan, Flame, and Ice Lemon Mint. Starbuzz has a new BOLD line. "Bold on dye, not flavor." In other words... nothing special. Khalil Mamoon now has washable hoses. They also now have new electro-plated KM models, along with others. Regal Hookah is a new company that makes wood hookahs. Mya Saray has new models as well. There was a slight influx of Syrians, which is now for the most part over. Hookahcompany still has a few Nours if you wanna check them out (Get one now while you can). Temsah came up as a really good contender against Khalil Mamoon, only to seemingly fall. In Germany they invented Shiazo Steam Stones- flavored rocks. Not too shabby. Good alternative for all of the places that now have indoor tobacco smoking bans. NazarHookah now has his own line of coals- Razan coals. This is all I can think of for now... If there's something I forgot guys, please add to it.

People are mostly smoking Tangiers, Nakhla, and Al Fakher these days I'd say.

People are mostly ordering from Hookahcompany, Nazarhookah, UltimateHookah, 5StarHookah, CrownHookahs, and Hookah-Shisha.com. (I hope I didn't forget any of our favorite vendors)

As for what products are changing my experience, I have so far been sticking with my Tangiers Mini Phunnel (rumored to possibly be made retail sometime), Khalil Mamoon OG Trimetal, Al Nawras Syrian, and now Cocomazaya coals. The Cocomazaya have really blown me away. Before I was using Golden Canaries which are great for Tangiers, but I got tired of fiddling with coals every 20 minutes. Cocomazaya are great because they're less coal area in contact with the foil, and it just makes for much better heat management. Anyway, they've made my smoking experience great. That and Tangiers. Enough that I don't even bother smoking anything else.

As for what new hose you should get, check out Nammor, Razan, or even the new KM washables.

I'd like to see this video once you're done. I'm a TV Prod major and wanted to do an informational video on hookah for a class, but ultimately my professor made us make it focus on TV basics- shot composition, editing, aspect ratios... that kind of thing. I should still make one, I think...

Again, welcome back to HF!

Should cover everything else you may have missed. :)

Good to see Tangiers is still good. Starbuzz was all the rage a few years back. Al Fakher grape was the bomb and then it started tasting like ketchup. Who makes a decent grape these days?

I've been smoking Tangiers White Grape. Its excellent. Reminds me of Welches grape juice.
