smoknjoe
I just got a new hookah (never used one before) and in the part where the hose goes looks like it has grease in it. It may be dirt, it may be grease, i don't know. Is this normal?
smoknjoe
anyone? I'm not sure if this is safe to smoke or not?
Volcom8234
It may just be dirt, clean it with a paper towel or something and check what it is. Shouldn't be grease as far as i know. So check and if it's not grease, then smoke away
cymptom
It sounds like it was soldered with flux or something. The flux can leave a greasy kinda residue. Does it have any kind of odor?

cymptom
I don't know how you could get rid of it, I guess you could try scrubbing it with rubbing alcohol or even acetone. If you're going to try that, be careful not to get any of the solvent on your vase if it's painted (I learned the hard way...)But if you're not satisfied with it the way it came, you should be able to just send it back. Ain Soph Aur
Send it back for sure. Don't touch a thing.
Sonthert
Probably best to return it.Rubbing alcohol should work, but turn the shank upside down and poor through, so the flux/greese is drawn higher in the pipe by gravity.
mushrat
Well, I'd alert them to the situation, then give it the thoughough cleaning you should give any new hookah before using it..thats for the grease...for the shoddy workmanship... i'd send it back
Sonthert
I have had grease spots on the hookah before, especially brass ones...shouldn't be too big a deal.
