Hookah Lounge,hookah Bar, Hookah Club, Hookah..

so I see several times in threads relating to hookah establishments that some people have different tastes in loud music, or no music. Dim lights of full lighting. Food no food etc...

my question is there really a name for each different place. is hookah bar the same a lounge or a club(if there is one)

If there is, what is the difference between each?
If not what would you relate to each name? Bar/lounge/club/den?

For me...

Hookah lounge is your standard lounge that is focused on the smoking and *may* have alcohol, food, etc... Lighting can be dim or full, but the focus is hookah and things are chill. No loud music, please.

When I think hookah bar, I think of a small place that has a heavy alcohol influence and has a physical bar where you can smoke and drink right there. Tables as well. No loud music... Basically it's a bar like you'd normally see except there's hookah as well. Not necessarily comes in just for the hookah. They may come in just to grab a beer. Mush's old place is what I think of when I think hookah bar.

Hookah club... Hookah, probably alcohol, loud music, dancing, crazy lighting... Not my kind of place.

This is how I feel what the different names imply.

Maybe it's a regional thing. I've only ever heard them called Hookah bars. The two I've been to didn't have a liquor license so they were BYO. One is a middle eastern restaurant the other was (I've heard it's gone) more like a hang out with sofas, cushions, pool table, and food.

They are sorta interchangable to me. I considered what i had to be a hookah bar because, well, i had a bar. I consider The Prince where i spend all my time now to be a Hookah Lounge because it has no..bar.

So in other words bar if it has booze, lounge if not. Club would warn me its going to be crowded and loud and I may just avoid it on general principles.

i kinda go with the consensus on on this, i walked into a lounge thinking it was going to be a chill place no bar or strobe lights, but i was wrong. No bar but dark lighting with strobing lights and loud music, had to yell at the guy to ask what kind of stuff they serve
