vendetta_revived
Do you not hold the foil tightly enough while poking holes? It could just be the pictures but the foil looks terribly crumpled to me. Also, wipe the top of that foil with a tissue paper after you're done poking holes.
Yeah, I guess I didn't hold the foil down good enough when poking holes. :/ I'll start wiping it from now on. Thanks!
spoolinspoon
This is my method of packing tangiers in any phunnel bowl. It works for me and it's a great starting point. 1. Mix tangiers to distribute juices that have have settled to the bottom. (about 30 seconds) 2. Use your finger to put tobacco in the bowl, do not press down. Make sure you keep it somewhat fluffy but fill any gaps. Fill to the rim of the bowl (can be over the rip just a bit). 3. Now pat it down with the weight of your finger, do not mash it down! Level of tobacco should now be just below the rim. If you take a ruler it shouldn't touch. 4.Take your foil of choice ( I use Heavy Duty). Lay the foil on top of the bowl. (it should look like this when you seal it. What I do is pull the foil while pulling it down toward the bottem of the bowl. Use your hands and cup the bowl to pull the foil tighter. Once the foil is flat on top your ready to give it a final seal. What I do is take the palm of my hand and run it along the edge of the bowl. 5. I take a toothpick and poke rings starting with the edge. I only poke to size of the toothpick and dont go all the way down. Usually two rings works for me. If you keep your index finger and thumb on the rim of the bowl, it will help from foil getting loose. 6. Now for testing airflow. Take the bowl and give it a light puff from the bottem and then take a breath in. Two things should happen, should flow nicely and foil should stay intact with blow. If its hard to draw then you probably didnt pull foil tight enough or not enough holes. 7. If your onto this step your on the home stretch. Light up coals and smoke. On the Crown micro phunnel, I use two Coconara's and begin across from each other and on the edge. If the it startes to get harsh, stand one of the coals vertical so less surface area of the coal is in contact. Keep note that this is how I pack Tangiers in my phunnels. If it doesn't work its at least a good starting point. Make slight adjustments and you will get it!

I think I have enough Tang left for 1 or 2 more bowls so I'll give it a try. But from the pictures I posted above, the bowl was actually quite nice. Took a lil break when the coals were almost done so I could eat dinner. Getting ready to put 2 more on. Now my question is, do you keep the coals in the same spot the whole time even when you go to place new ones on? Again, thanks!

I've noticed that it shocks it and will burn. As for heat management, rotate the coals clockwise or couther-clockwise. When you place new coals place it on the next spot. If it gets harsh, stand the coal up.
