Noob Needs Help Choosing Second Hookah!

Recommended Posts

So here's the deal I picked up a single hose hookah from my local smoke shop that was about 22" or so (generic brand, nothing special) and me and my friends used it quite a bit in the last few months, the single hose is getting old and so we thought it would be good to upgrade to something nicer with more hoses.

After doing some reading on here in the last few days I've basically just over maxed my brain with all the info about what hookah we should get. Here's what were looking for:
1. Big Base!!
2. 28-35" size
3. Minimum of 2 hoses, although more wouldn't hurt
4. Under $175, maybe $200 if we can get everyone to pitch

Also were trying to get the most milky smoke we can, anything we should be looking for? Bigger base equals more milky smoke? We plan on getting a diffuser also, or is that not worth it?

I've been looking in to Khalil Mamoon's but it seems they don't offer very many multi hose hookahs. Also been browsing Mya hookahs but they are pricey.

So what I'm wondering is if you guys could recommend any great to excellent hookahs.

First off, welcome to the community!

So to answer your questions first...
-A big base will not lead to more "milky" of smoke, that will all depend on your shisha as well as how your heating it. A big base will basically add more stability to a taller hookah but is not really necessary.
-A diffuser isn't worth jack, it basically just eliminates some of the noise, but otherwise does zero for your smoking.
-I personally own a Khalil Mamoon and can tell you they work brilliantly, Mya'a are also good, as our Syrians. As for KM not offering alot of multi hose hookahs, you do realize you can buy a multi-hose stem and then buy a base of your liking separately right?

Now onto the other stuff...
-You want a big base, so look at a KM Jumbo base, easy to find on google, but around here people will give you some good recommendations on websites.
-28" - 35" you can find on just about any website, for just about any good brand
-2 Hoses, I want to quickly warn you about some quick notes on multi hose hookahs. From what I have experienced as well as what I have heard from others, a rotating multi hose hookah will tend to wear away and break quickly over time. You also need to be aware, that in most cases it is not both of you pulling at once, it is still one at a time. So in this case why not buy a nice larger 30-40" hookah, get a long washable hose, and just pass it?
-$175 - $200 will get you any of the most modern 35-40" KM hookahs on the market, I recommend a KM Trimetal, KM Exotica, or KM Black Pear.

Below in my sig is what I have, and feel free to ask more questions! GL with the hookah :)

I'd recommend avoiding the multi-hose hookahs. I find they just don't smoke as well, along with the need to plug the hoses not in use, and all that.
200, huh? I would buy the most beautiful hookah in the world, the KM Admiral. 200 comes with a bell shaped vase, but you can upgrade to the Jumbo vase for like 50 bucks. I also like the chillers.
As for brand, KM for sure. Although, if you had the chance, I'd recommend the Regal.

How many people do you smoke with? I find the single hose hookahs to be more airtight, stable, durable and what not. KM is a good choice, however, more common.

If I had a budget of $200 and was in the market for a hookah, I'd definitely buy this.

I would suggest a Nammor package from Hookah-shisha

you can get a great Hookah, with a large base, and a Nammor for a little over 100 ir not less. Use the spare funds to get an adapter for a second hose, and a second Nammor and you will be good to go! Even more extra funds could be put towards some new Shisha to try, a different bowl, windcover, or whatever else you wanted.

If I were you though, I would make sure to get a one hose model, because with the Egyptian Nammor's, you will have a purge valve to use if its just you or one other person, and when you want to get your second hose going just unscrew it, and pop on the adapter. Much better then having two hoses from the get go.

I have the redwood version for the last 5 days and it's epic. Review to come as soon as I find my camera.
Don't buy it from H-C though. H-C only gets the stem for it, everything else is bundled in by H-C. It's supposed to come with an amazing custom made Elephant hose and a Syrian tower/disk base. Edited by omegaalpha22

I don't think any of the Nammor hookahs come with adapters for more hoses.

That said, they're still a fantastic deal. Just as nice as KMs, but with the added bonus of a washable hose standard.

They dont, but you can unscrew the purge valve, and stick this on

which is what I bought and use when I have 4 or more people smoking. works perfect, and you can just screw the purge back on when your done.

Not only washable, but IMO, one of the best hoses you can buy.

I originally wanted a 2-hose hookah but decided to go with a Mya Legend single-hose. Some Mya stems come with the ability to add up to 3 more hoses, the additional ports are sealed (2 screw on plugs, one purge valve) and you can buy additional adaptors to add more hoses. I'll be picking up an adaptor and hose in my next order.

Single hose, single hose, single hose, single hose. Take it from us, we've all been there and know that they will perform much better than a multi hose. You won't have two people taking draws at the same time, and you've got to make sure the other hose is plugged or else the smoke will be thin.

K thanks guys for the input, Sounds like im going with a Khalil Mamoon in the 30" range. recommendations?

I now plan on going single hose and then getting an adapter to run 2 hoses. What adapter do I need? Couldnt find any that were for KM. Does KM have a website, couldnt find.

You can't really do that. What Floataround said is incredibly stupid IMO. Adding an adapter to the purge valve will not smoke well.
Just pass the hose.

It is? On most Nammor models, at least on the Pharaoh which I have, if you unscrew the hose port and the purge valve, the look and are EXACTLY THE SAME SCREW ON. You can unscrew the purge valve, take out the ball bearing, and screw on another hose port. Its that simple. Know what your talking about before you start throwing stuff around. Not all Hookahs can do this, but Nammor's can as long as they have screw on ports.

You can only do this if it is a screw on hose port, I do not think any KM's have these. Thats why I recommended a Nammor.

To avoid any more confusion, here is my exact model and accessory that I use(d)

Hookah package

Second hose port to screw on once you unscrew the purge

While this is my specific model, it states

"compatible with our King Tut, Pharaoh, Nile, Sphinx, and Scarab Egyptian hookahs and our Super Nova, Lunar, and Comet Rotating Hookahs. " So those are your choices if you choose to go this route, which I think is a perfect one for what you are trying to do.

I do not think so, I think only those linked models. Not 100%, but I would only go off of the models listed. The King Tut, Pharaoh ( which I have and love), Nile, Spinx or Scarab. Edited by Floataround

Not sure..but I do not think so. I believe all KM's have their hose ports soldered on. In my experience , only hose ports that are screw on can be switched between one to multiple ports, depending on the model.

I do also believe most Mya's also have this option,as they also sell hose port plugs as well to plug spare sections.

To make it to the point, only Myas are good for multi-hose.
Anyway though, multi-hose hookahs aren't worth it....you're constantly fighting for the smoke...just get a single hose.
For less money, you'll get a better hookah.
And since you're in SoCal, go with UltimateHookah, 5starhookah, or one of those other vendors in Cali.
You'll definitely get more for your money

While I will agree with the fact that I would not get a multi hose that can not be converted, I really would not follow any of his other advice. Just got a one way ticket...anyway, I still think that for what you are looking to do a Nammor would be perfect sense you really want multi-hose , and you can convert it back to a one hose when thats more fitting.
