Interesting Finds At The Local Tobacco Shop...

Recommended Posts

This new store opened up, primarily a roll-your-own organic tobacco store. They have some decent hookahs available, nothing too crazy though. I stopped in, as I often do, to get some coals to hold me over until I can order some online. Today, however, I realized they updated their stock significantly...

1. 108 count Cocomazaya boxes for $9.99. HUH?

2. 250 g tins of Starbuzz for $13.99 (admittedly not my favorite but for the price, of course I will). HUH?

3. The device that I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention that turns the hookah bowl upside down. I hope you all know what I mean. I laughed audibly when I saw it.

I talked to the cashier, who clearly had no idea that those prices were not the industry standard. I'm sure the majority of us are used to paying 15+ for Coco brand coals, and at least 20+ for 250 g tins of Starbuzz. I was a little taken aback. I figure I'll capitalize on this while I can.

Def stock on the Cocos, and if I were you grab some of the more known flavors of Starbuzz and then resell them.

yeah stock up every place thats new will start seeing you come in and rasie the price till its to much and you stop coming then they get mad but people still buy them regardless of price if they want it bad enough. i can get coco's for 10 and tins of starbuzz(dont smoke anyway) for like 12 from this newer local shop. they keep getting more and more stuff like every couple days i go in to get coals so just buy in bulk and wait and see

I noticed two local shops, same owner different states, had CCNs for about a $5 difference between State A and State B. Suffice to say, I buy at the cheaper location since that's the same as the online price.

What part of P'burgh? So I know where to go next time I'm out there....

I would buy a box of cocos and go home and smoke them, and if out of several sets of coals smell and smoke legit, clean them out the next day.

At that price for SB I would try some flavors.

I just stopped by my local smoke shop I used to hit up before I started ordering online. They have refilled their supply, still only having Starbuzz, Fantasia, and a Brand called Nile that the owner of the shop called just an average hookah tobacco. . But my guy is also selling Cocomazaya's(108 pcs) for 9.99 as well.

Think I'm finally going to give these a try for that price, since it seems like a killer deal, and if I don't like them, I'm sure I can pass them along to someone on here.

If these local shops are selling legit CCN/CCM for $10 a box and making profit, it's gotta make you wonder how much online retailers get them for wholesale and how much of a markup there is... I understand they have got to make their money, but are they charging too much?

At my local shop, 108 box of CCN are $12.99. But I like the CCM cubes better, so I get them online instead.

I can't justify the difference in price between buying locally and buying online with shipping. A box of coals isn't light and right now I don't buy enough to qualify for the "spend $$$ get free shipping"

My hookah budget lives for free shipping.
