The claim is they never need to be move or rotated because of the shape.
S3cretz
It works fine for the first few minutes until the little stilts turn to ash.
squidget
^^^ that was my first thought. They will be regular coals after awhile so whats the point?
joytron
There is already a coal that does not need to be moved or flipped.... https://www.coco-nara.us/default.aspx A product shouldn't be designed strictly because a group of people dont know how to light coals. Chreees
Seriously? I've never had to rotate or touch at all really Coconaras, Cocomazayas, or Golden Canaries...

Epoch
I wonder if these would be good for Tang. We've already had people experimenting with putting coconut coals on brass washers like stands. Just a thought.
Eric of tangiers doesn't use that method, you can just put coals straight on the bowl and it will be fine, if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me, my tangiers never gets burnt but i do use less coal than people I've seen posting pics of that method. Two coconaras/ch/razan w/e coals is enough for a small folks that and a windcover does wonders.
do you cut them in half or just rock the cocos whole? just curious, as i've always used 3 with poor luck w/ noir as far as the "v" coals.. seems like a waste, i rarely have to rotate/flip cocos as has been previously mentioned by others aswell

I used to use 3 but I've grown to find that to be too much heat and with a properly packed bowl 2 and a windcover (at the start, later I take it off for a while) to be sufficient. As far as cutting coals goes that's a waste of time imo when standing coconaras up on their sides does the same thing for me. mushrat
Gimmicks make the world go round folks... why else have freeze hoses and mouthpieces, 8 different kinds of phunnel type bowls, or heba filter/diffusers or even multiple kinds of tri-metals? Don't knock a gimmick just cause YOU don't think you need it. It's called marketing.

I was using those because I only had CCNs and was using an Alien bowl. the foils rings/brass washers kept the CCNs from getting the bowl/tobacco too hot and burning. However, I have never had a problem using CCNs on a Tangiers phunnel at all.
