Moki
Hi guys, I finally got hold of washable hoses. Is it fine to wash them everytime afted I smoke, or it's better to do it less often? It's MYA Premium Hose, by the way. Also, anyone can tell me the difference between washable and non-washable hose? I mean, what does make it "washable"? Thanks! gixxer
Non-washable hoses have a metal coil going through them which will rust and you don't want to be breathing that in.
S3cretz
Wash it as much as you want. But washing removes most of the trace flavour left in the hose. Why is this a bad thing see below : I suggest having 2 or 3 hoses. 1 for fruit. 1 for mint. 1 for sweet stuff. Get about 5 sessions in of whatever you want to use the hose for. And then wash. then youve always got a nice full bodied smoke.
mushrat
a Mya washable? Unless it is all plastic, it will eventually rust. Mya hoses have plastic wrapped around the coils, so they can be washed a few times, but washable and rust proof are two different things. Only wash it when you ABSOLUTELY have to and then use cold water.
Moki
I'll keep that in mind, thanks guys.
Hakooh Bar
Do they make stainless steal hoses? Stainless steal still rusts however is more corrosion resistant. I am new to hookah, but there are other types of metals like cold steel, S40V lots of high corrosion resistant steels used in making tools and expensive cutlery. Look at the nu-hose all plastic, only 3 bucks, wash it as many times as you like and has an amazing draw.
atalanta
I wash my Nammor every week (right now I only smoke weekends). I only have the one hose and one bowl so I'm not thinking about "seasoning" the hose.

For $3, and the effortless draw you get from it, it is the best cost effective hose you can get. If you're looking to get a fancier looking hose though, you should look at Razan and Nammor hoses. They're fancy, washable (no coil), and will last you a loooooong time.
Chreees
Yeah, if it's a Mya hose, I seriously doubt it's washable. Check for metal in the hose. Do the magnet test. Washables don't have the metal coil. Instead it's all plastic/rubber construction. As for washing, the more you wash it, the faster it'll wear/tear. That said, I hardly ever wash my washables. But it's nice to be able to for when you smoke a flavor that ghosts pretty badly. Just keep in mind that the more you wash it, the shorter amount of time it'll hold up. There's members on here that have had washables for years at a time, though.
Stuie
If it's a true washable, that seems a bit excessive. But since it's a mya, it's probably not a true washable.
Arcane
I stopped washing my hoses. I have a few extras so, now I just toss them when they get too ghosted.
A13lackFish
Non washable has the metal coil down the entire hose. If washed it will rust and flake into the mouthpiece which I can assure you, is not pleasant. Washable is well... washable. Yes you can wash it after every session, I personally do it each time I clean my hookah.
