gixxer
It's just a chinese one I picked up at a local shop, but d*** I love smoking again. Had a couple 2 hour+ sessions with AF melon as well as watermelon+mint, best smokes yet. I'm having some issues with my ghosted hose (3 years on my km that came with my pear) as well as learning the correct pack but I wish I made this small investment earlier. I just smoked some af grape and it just tasted like everything else I've smoked combined so hopefully a nammor/razan and tangiers phunnel will be in my near future. Happy smoking
vendetta_revived
Chinese phunnels are okay for AF I guess, but if you plan to smoke tangiers, I wouldn't recommend it!
A13lackFish
If you plan to smoke anything of significance I would recommend getting a real one . If you dont plan to though, take something and shave down the center hole of the phunnel so that it works correct. Happy smoking.
Moki
How the hell you guys manage to do 2 hour sessions, I've got 45 minutes if not less. Do you use shitload of tobacco, or are you just better than me at preparing it? Maybe when I get that funnel bowl, I'll have such sessions, but with current small Mya bowl, no way. atalanta
I dunno, I can get 1-2 hours from my shallow egyptian. I use about 2 coals an hour. I'm hoping to do better when I get a phunnel. Thread hijack - I know the Tangiers is the de rigueur of phunnels, but I saw the House of Smokes LV phunnel and it seems to be shaped more like a Mya bowl, a deeper phunnel as opposed to the more "shallow" tangiers. Any of you Vegas people see/try their phunnel? I'm thinking about maybe that one because I can't find any reviews of it - be the guinea pig. And it's a smaller one, less than 10g. They also carry the small Tangiers so maybe I'll spring for both.

A13lackFish
Lol even with my mya bowl, I at least get a solid 4 hour session. My phunnel close to 6. Its all proper heat management my friend.

The inside of them is glazed as well and causes them to slip and tilt, not fun. They're just like any other chinese phunnel knockoff.. but it's nice that they carry the tang smalls.. just get 2 tang smalls, you'll be much happier. A13lackFish
shaving it down a little will allow you to have better airflow and a flat surface of foil your shisha should never touch the foil when your using the phunnel as you will be burning it instead of cooking it. Thus, in doing this youll have flat foil, good airflow, and will only be cooking it, allowing for a long solid session.
ntur
phunnels are the way to go for wet shisha, but i still like egyptian bowls for dry stuff like nakhla. i get 2-3 hours on it. its all about heat management no matter what bowl and shisha you use. I haven't seen a real tangiers phunnel and it's hard to tell from pics. The foil on my chinese does sit flat however and I don't have a problem with sucking the foil onto the spire. Also, I've been using two cocos on my phunnel instead of three, things seem to get too hot/lose flavor. I'm using roughly 30g of AF in a bowl- does this seem correct? Single HD foil. Thanks! [/quote] If your not hitting the spire, then you don't need to shave it down. I typically use 3 Chronic Hookah natual lights on my bowls, but the foil is tight, and the holes in the foil are done by using a "tac" and are thus small. Make sure your coal spread is being done correctly. This would mean that if you are using 2 coals, one goes on one side of the bowl, and the other on the opposite side, as to not have all the heat hitting only one area. The amount of shisha in the bowl doesn't actually need to be measured when you pack it, AF needs to be "fluffed" when packed into the bowl. So this would mean more of a casual dropping until it is full, not actually packing it down tight. Bring it upto right under the rim of the outer bowl, and then foil it. Give all of this a try if you haven't already and let us know the outcome
