In addition to what people are saying about the buzz, I also feel that tangiers has a very heavy tobacco taste compared to others. A lot of the other brands I smoke, have a slightly "sweeter" flavor. That tobacco taste can be a huge turn off for me when smoking Tangiers.

I dont think it has as much of a buzz compared to companies such as nakhla, but it certainly has more of a tobacco taste in my opinion.

I've only tried one Lucid flavor, Blue GumBall. I wasn't a huge fan. Although, the regular line I have come to find my favorite go-to flavors.

Why are people talking about the buzz and the tobacco taste?

The pro - suggesting-tangiers-to-new-people people here are talking about LUCID and not noir, and lucid neither has the buzz, nor that distinct tobacco taste.

Have you ever seen an amateur hookah smoker pack their first few bowls?

Now imagine them doing that with Tangiers, which they likely wont acclimate correctly, or pack correctly since it has its own specific packing method...

Now can you imagine your disgust if your first bowl of hookah ever was a improperly packed and acclimated bowl of Tangiers?

Please lie to me and say that you would be souped on hookah from that point on after tasting harsh ketchup.... lol

Well you are right. If a user doesn't read the instructions on the pack, and doesn't put any work in learning how to smoke tang, then there is a bigger chance of them fucking up with it than with most other tobaccos, but I didn't contest these valid points, did I?

I was just saying that the buzz, tobacco taste points were a moot point because no one is saying that they see it right to suggest noir line to newbies, and the lucid has neither the tobacco taste, nor the buzz. :)

I think it is a rare occurrence that someone joins here before they ever try hookah. Sure, they might not own a hookah but they most likely have tried it at a lounge or with a friend. They most likely have some experience with sb, af or Nak.

If you think all other brands are a waste of time, tell the noon that, if you don't lone Tangiers, tell the noon that.

The great thing about a forum is that you can get alot of different opinions from alot of different people. If a noon doesn't have the brains to get a bunch of opinions from a forum and make their own decision, they probably shouldn't be smoking anyway.

When I first started out, I wanted to try everything. Now I know I won't live long enough to do that anyway but I have tried enough to know what I prefer to smoke.

If someone joined up and said they have never tried hookah but want to skip all the bullshit and skip right to the best stuff, I would suggest Tangiers bit also suggest they try double apple which is not available from Tangiers. If someone had just tried hookah for the first time at a lounge and wanted to try it at home I would suggest AF or Nak.

Give your opinion based on the OP and your experience. Saying that everyone should suggest or should not suggest Tangiers is the only real bad advice I have seen here.

I will say that it says a lot about Tangiers that you won't see a thread like this about AF, Nak or sb.

I joined here without EVER having smoked hookah before. Never smoked before. I joined here to learn what to do to avoid some noob mistakes.

First hookah a used mya which I'm loving. needed a hose, got a nammor. Ok, I didn't get a phunnel but a cheap Egyptian. Skipped QLs and started with CCNs. Read/watched tutorials on packing and heat management. Seems to be working for me, but I'm sure I can improve.

Noob with a phunnel, looking forward to my generic glass one showing up so I can play with it this weekend. I'll be watching/reading tutorials on all the phunnel versions so I have a starting point.

Noob with tangiers? Soon. I still need to be able to actually smoke for a full session rather than puffing for most of it (tastes yummy though).

So you are the rare occurrence. What tobacco was suggested to you the most when you joined? After you try Tangiers, let us know if you wish you had skipped straight to it.

I guess here it was AF and Nak. Friends suggested Starbuzz and Fantasia. My first smoke was Havana Apple and the second tobacco I tried was Fantasia Pumpkin Spice. Still working on those two, but AW Bounty is next on my list. Tangiers will be a little later down the line. Edited by atalanta
