Good Hookah

Recommended Posts

I own a QT - bought it on impulse while out and about. I can't say I swear by it because I've only used two - one friends full size and mine. But I do like it. It's certainly absolutely perfect, but it is pretty great. The quality is pretty high.

It depends what you intend on using your hookah for. what circumstances? If it's going to be going to a lot of parties or regularly smoking with a lot of friends, then maybe a bigger, multi-hosed one would be a better option. Also, the bigger one are pretty stable too. However if it's more of a personal one that you smoke with maybe a couple of friends occaisionally, then a QT.
Hookah-shisha.com, Great customer serviceand wide selection.
These guys have sent me 2 hookahs, and both times I got hand written notes thanking me for their business, not to mention they ship FAST, and their stock in tobacco is very very very fresh stuff. I've never got a dry 50g box from them like I have from local markets. Shop their stuff, I would totally recomend a smallish egyptian hookah from them.

I think everyone should own at least one small hookah. And it should be a QT.
I disagree on both points. I think qts look like fire hydrants.
I'll agree. I'd much rather have something that looks more like a hookah, and not an old school perfume bottle.

I believe it was Lake who brought up the point that QTs can't clear stale smoke worth a damn due to their design. This of course is not a vital part of smoking and you'd still be able to smoke just fine, but it's always nice to be able to clear the smoke if you start to burn the tobacco.Just a thought to remember.
Hookah-shisha.com, Great customer serviceand wide selection.
I just ordered from them. I got one of an 22" egyptian, but I was thinking about sending it back b/c it had some stuff (not sure) in the stem where the hose goes and you can see some goldish/brass looking color on some of the metal which is supposed to be stainless, and I wasn't sure how safe it was or whatnot...i'm prob. just over-reacting with it...

I have a Taqseem Junior I got for $40, and it smokes magnificently. I honestly never thought the QT was all that wonderful, it looks way too fancy for my tastes. The only thing I like about them is the nice cage it comes with.Oh, and I think Hookahcompany.com may be worth mentioning as a hookah shop.

Yash brought the purge issue up on the QT... thats why I dont recommend them for a first hookah. A first hookah should probably have a proven design and works well on all aspects.... thats why I lean toward traditional pipes for starters. They have been building them the way they look for years. Theres a reason behind that.. they work.My knee jerk recommendations for first hookah have become standardized. Traditional Egyptian/Syrian/Lebanese/TurkishSingle Hose24-28" heightpurge valveBell vaseSkip all the bells and whistles for now.

Brass cores are best, but sometimes the coatings come off. Send it back. Frequently, the down tube that goes into the jar is uncoated brass. Everything else should be silver. One of the reasons why I prefer brass hookahs...no coating to some off.
