S3cretz
I recently started using 4 quarter coals instead of 2 halves but since they weigh so little when the hookah was pulled they started moving to the centre of the bowl because of the vibration the only way to stop this is by putting the coals on the rim of the bowl so they have solid bowl below them. Later in the session feel free to move them in because you want them in the centre anyway and them moving around by themselves makes heat management so much easier. anyone else have a better idea feel free to add. Bawhee
make barriers out of foil?
mushrat
I put my coals on the edge anyways, it helps heat the bowl itself up so you get heat from all around the packed tobacco, not just the top, for a better vaporizing effect.

joelhookah
What bowl are you using that you use 2 halves?
Bawhee
he said he did put them on the edge but they moved inwards from the bubbling, Id seriously attempt foil to make barriers at the edge, ive done something like that before, just bend the foil into a right angle (a small bit of foil) and use it to stop the coals from moving
