Nicotine Dosages

Lately I've begun to be fascinated by all the science involved in hookahs and their smoking...I was thinking about nicotine content. I know each brand has their own posted ammount. They all claim no tar and x% nicotine. Does any one know a relative dose of nicotine in a given bowl (or fixed quantity) in a measure? I'm curious.

Dosage is hard, as it depends on so many factors from amount of shisha, to the amount of puffs, amount of burning, personal absorbtion rates...etcBut all brands are either:Washed (.05% nicotine)orUnwashed (.5% nicotine)

also the actual amount of tobacco can vary from whats on the box. U sually whats on the box is the maximum possible levels in that manufactuerers tobacco. Bein that alot of my friends are chemical engineering students I had them do some tests on the nictotine contents of so nahkla I had sitting around, the results varried from .2 up to .45% despite that on the box it says .5% Granted there was inevitably a degree of error in their tests because it was something they ust did on the side, but interesting nonetheless. (btw I'm studying mechanical so dont ask me to try and explain anything they did to determine those numbers, i dont like chemistry)

Well what exactly does 0.5% mean? How my per unit? Like x MG per y G? or what?Obviously how much you get into your body can vary, I'm just curious about potential.

Umm, % is by weight.So for 1g of shisha, that means 5mg of nicotine.I believe most cigs are somewhere between 0 and 1.2mg+ ([url="http://www.trytostop.org/more_info/other-tobacco-products.asp#nicotine"]clicky[/url]) of nicotine.Meaning for say a 10g bowl, thats roughly 40-50 cigs.But how much of the bowl do you actually smoke completely? and how much of it is all you? and how long does it last? And how much of the CO from the charcoal are you inhaling?
