smoknjoe
I tried my hookah today (first time ive ever used one) and the smoke was not thick at all. I covered the bowl with my hand to make sure that there werent any leaks and there werent any, but i still could not get a thick smoke at all. I could barely even taste the shisha. any help or advice?

skiracerj1
yeah, more heat and maybe more tobacco, if it was harsh and thin, definately use more tobacco. generally fill the bowl packed mildly tight to just below the foil line. Other than that just use more coal, and maybe try using a wind cover if you have one, they can sometiems help to hold in the heat
zombiedepot
Try adding another coal. I had to try it a few times after my first time to get it right. With a little practice you'll get the hang of it.
pauldavis
well the advice has been given, but just wanted to say, welcome to the wonderful world of hookahs and to the forum
smoknjoe
yeah thanks all for the advice. I used more shisha and two coals and the smoke was substantially thicker. I got light headed though. any one else get like that?
skiracerj1
yeah that'll happen with heavier nictotine brands like nahkla, al waha, tangiers, and layalina. If it becomes too much of a problem try switching to a lighter tobacco. Alot of forum members like Al Fahker, Al Amir, havana, and fumari, in no particular order
Glottis
If you are like me and strongly dislike being lightheaded, Al Amir is probably the best choice in that respect, and Al Fakher is probably about the same. If you are like me and really really don't like being lightheaded, stay far away from Tangiers. The tobacco, not the forum member. Although...But yeah, just mess around with the coals and amount of holes you poke in the foil and water level and stuff like that. Sometimes starting off with too much heat can make it burn right away, it's good to work your way up. Just slowly add more coals until it starts getting too harsh for you. EvansLight
its the whole unwashed vs. washed thing. Unwashed has a higher nicotine content. Gets you a nice buzz, which is actually one of the main reasons i like smoking. Also remeber, while smoking your depriving your brain of oxygen. The longer, harder, and more frequent you take hits, the more chances of you getting lightheaded, even with low nicotine content hope it helps.
