Hookah And Coffee

Recommended Posts

I found this out just now while drinking coffee and smoking hookah. Hookah is a very nice compliment to coffee. They go well together. Especially any kind of sweet shisha. It's sweet and bitter together. Tangiers Green Apple Candy with Dillanos Dillon's Blend. Yum. :)

If your doing this, I highly recommend the thicker turkish or greek coffee when smoking the hookah. Its a brilliant mix of the heavier taste of the coffee and the blend of the fruits. Most hookah bars in my area serve these for just that reason.

I thought about turkish, but it involves buying a uhm.. ibrik? What's that thing called? Special coffee maker thing.

I should make a cappuccino and drink that with my hookah.

Yes, you typically use an Ibrik and small cups similar to espresso style. Making it is not overly difficult, but its something that can take some time to really master both making it properly, and making it to your taste. Worth it IMO.

When I worked at a lounge my boss made Turkish coffe ghetto style on the stove top and always said "when it blow like woosh and bubbles come over, stirs it good and take it, unless the bubbles stop"

I love coffee with hookah. Tea as well. I need to find a good blueberry tobacco flavor to compliment my blueberry tea. :)

The problem with coffee (esp Turkish coffee or espresso) is that it's over quickly and unless you're a severe caffeine addict, you can't really have cup after cup after cup. Tea or beer is a much better accompaniment.

Or the kalimotxo, of course!

I agree. Except the addict and beer aren't really a good mix...

Your not supposed to be chugging it down. Its meant to be treated as a desert item, you sip it in unison with your water or beverage side. It adds amazing flavor typically in a very strong way, but is definitely not meant to be drunk like you would a cup of Foldgers.

Still in my opinion the best side beverage to my hookah sessions (Turkish or Greek Coffee).

I'm exceedingly familiar with the proper drinking of Turkish coffee. Sip away, but it still has to be drunk before it goes cold. A nargile session lasts 1-2 hrs. To me that's not a good accompaniment.

Espresso on the other hand IS meant to be be drunk in 2-3 swigs.

And then you get to tweak out from your caffine fix in your seat for that one to two hours haha.
