lebanese coffee?

the majority of the lebanese coffee available, both here and in lebanon have cardamom. what brands do you go for? i know najjar is big in lebanon and extremely available in the houston area...idk about utah. my favorite is maatouk, but it isn't available where i'm at (we have family members bring it from leb for us). Rifa'i is pretty good too, but also not available here. :/

and all of the country specifications with coffee. they should just call it "eastern coffee" because the greeks, turks, lebanese, sytians, egyptians, etc ad nauseam use essentially the same coffee that's ground to the same level of fineness, the only difference i've been able to see is the presence (or lack) of cardamom.

the only regional coffee from around those parts that i've been able to determine is armenian...that's a whole other animal - apparently they put chick peas in it? not sure about this, although it was an old armenian guy who told me.

That method of coffee was invented by the Ottoman coffeehouses, so I call it Turkish coffee. Btw Tantoun, in Lebanon, it's usually just called ahwe turkiyye (as it is in Iraq, too).

i've always heard it called either just 2ahwe, or 2ahwe lubnani...bu maybe that's because we're from ze mountains
