Owning several KMs that were made at different times, I can attest to this. My current OG Trimetal seems to be built better than a newer one I owned. I've also owned a Trimetal, Single Pear, and uh... I know there's gotta be one or two more pipes too, but my brain isn't functioning properly this morning. Need coffee!

Anyway, it's not to say there's anything wrong with the newer KM pipes. You'll just notice more imperfections and weirder looking models. KM was on top of their game few years back. Ones now should smoke just the same, though. So have no fears if you're thinking of getting one- whatever you get you'll be fine.

Next brand of Egyptian hookah I'm looking at getting is Farida. Those things look very well built; very clean.

Not all KM's are equal. With that said it's hard to tell what you will get. It's not even by the model, like some models are better than other. It's just like shisha and coals, some batches are better than others. I handle each one that comes in and pack each one on it's way out. Some times I stare in awe and other times I shake my head. All in all the quality issues are more of the aesthetics. They are all still durable and welded strong, so even if there are minor blemishes they will not affect your smoke.

The only issue I have had is with newer ones that tend to be lighter the metal around the stem can get some small cracks and over time leak some nasty brown ooze....even with regular cleaning the ooze is there but it doesnt affect the smoke quality

i've definately experienced this with my single pear, bought it about a year ago, i keep my hookah very clean but somehow i get this brown liquid coming out every now and then while drying it.

Honestly its barely noticeable, just something to get people hyped up on the "OG" status of the old ones.

That being said the only one that I can agree with is the OG Trimetal, as the new ones are eh in build quality, but otherwise its personal opinion far as i'm concerned.
