Actually a lot of studies now contradict this. Actually they are starting now to encourage parents to test the bottles like the baby would and not sterilize the nipples. The bacteria in your mouth helps get your babies cultures started and can actually can alleviate colic.

Kids are kept too clean anymore, they need to eat more dirt. All this antibacterial BS does more harm than good. I think there's a pic in the photo album of my sister tucking into the plant pot in the hallway, she loved to eat dirt and dog food. Course this was many summers ago when parents were just glad kids survived another day
