Looking To Piece Together My Own Hookah

So I'm looking to make my own hookah and not rely on one bought in a downtown smoke shop. I don't want to Macgyver a homemade one, I would like to put together a sturdy glass one with a 4 hoses if at all possible but its not a deal breaker. Any good suggestions on websites or manufacturers?

nazarhookah has nice farida's IMO, havent seen or heard too much about them, but I think thatd be my next hookah.

I'd stick with Nours for a syrain, Khalil Mamoon for an egyptian, and Mya for a Chinese or for a smaller hookah. Farida kinda seems like a blend of syrain and egyptian which is exactly would I like.

I'm sure if you send an email to a vendor explaining your goal, They'll prob work out a deal If you just want a stem or something.

I would try to get a nammor/razan washable/narbish washable hose and take a look into a small tangiers phunnel if you plan to smoke alot. Edited December 22, 2011 by Chreees

Mya sells hookah parts individually. You can build a pretty beastly pipe with them.

Why would you want a 4 hose hookah? Smoke with too many people, do you? I ask because I find the multi hose hookahs aren't as durable as single hose hookahs, as there is a better chance for a leakage with so many hoses, plus I find them to not perform as good as a single hose hookah.

every multi-hose hookah i've ever smoked out of has never performed as well as a single hose pipe. and you have to wait till the other person(s) are not taking a pull to take a pull anyways.. so to me.. it's just as easy to simply pass the hose and wait a couple minutes for your turn..

That being said, if you really want a multiple hose pipe.. I've heard the mya multi-hose pipes work better than most.. and parts are easy to find if replacement is needed.

I would also imagine that having 4 hoses, therefore more pulls per second lol, would make the coals burn very hot alot more often. I cant say, since I prefer a single hose myself. If i was to go for a multihose though, I would say mya would be good since they have pretty standard peices and you can exchange the hose ports for purge valves If you smoke by yourself. At most though, honestly, I would top off the hoses at a 2 hose, so if theres a circle of friends, at least you dont have to rotate the hookah.

I back Blake's post as well. Good advice.

I also back Vimal in the need for 4 hoses. A 4-hose hookah is going to end up giving you a lot more trouble than a 1-hose. Having one hose engages everyone into the conversation more and is overall better, in my opinion. Worried about germs? Use tips. As the hose is passed, everyone can pop their tip on, take a hit or two, then take it off and pass the hose. Most of us don't really use tips, I don't think. I rarely smoke with anybody else, but when I do, sometimes I break out my Coconara tips, but sometimes I don't. I'm not overly worried about it. People shouldn't really ever be slobbering on the hose anyway, haha.

But if you absolutely want a 4-hoser, go with a Mya. Get the small Mono or Vento from Hookah-Shisha, and order additional hose port valves and hoses (I recommend the small Nammors, but buying 4 of those will get pricey, so maybe Fancy Hoses? Not sure if H-S sells those or not, so may have to order from another vendor). These are small hookahs, but will perform just as well as the big Myas and they have 4 ports for you to be able to use 4 hoses. You'll see in the picture they're just capped off. You just remove the caps and screw on the hose port valves. Pretty easy. Get the auto-seal ones if your friends can't manage to plug their hoses with their thumbs.

our buddy has a mya acrylic and it has 4 ports we always use it they are cheap harder to break since u got so many people smoking it and it works like a champion. all you need is a big bowl and the hose ports with ball bearings in the unless u want toplug the hose after every inhale you take which we do cause sometimes the bearing ones work and sometimes they dont its a hit or miss
