Humidor Use

Recommended Posts

So as I have had problems with Noir Tangiers, it got me thinking about Humidors. Does anyone use one? Would one work to help keep it acclimated? My hesitation would be that your not smoking it in the humidor, so when removed for smoking, the tobacco would not smoke as it should. Thoughts? Experiences? Opinions?

I've never really thought about that. Seems like a good idea. You would need a walk in humidor though.

Edit: What about an air humidifier?

That could be a really good idea...hmm..

The tobacco needs to be acclimated to where you will be smoking. It wouldn't really work, I don't think, because if the humidity in the humidor was different than that of where you smoke, it wouldn't smoke as well. Basically what you said about not smoking in the humidor. Edited by mavsfan31

What problems are you having specifically with noir?

Getting it not to reek of soy sauce haha. I just am blaming it on MD's inconsistent weather and humidity

If you plan on using a Humidor that already has cigars in it, do not do it. However, you can make a makeshift humidor inside. Seal off a room, and put in a humidifier/dehumidifier. Store/acclimate Tangiers in this room, and you should be alright.

I'd be afraid to take the tobacco out of the proximity of the humidor. I get the feeling it would start to de-acclimate.
