Ugh, Wedding Rings...

Ironically enough, it's mine we're worried about, not Brooke's.

I just don't know which one to get! So many options. Here's what I've found that I like:

Copper inlay: http://www.zales.com...d=3684345&kpc=1

Redwood Inlay: http://www.foreverme...-tungsten-ring/

Amboyna Burl Wood Inlay: http://www.etsy.com/...ng-band-amboyna

Fuckin' Meteorite Wedding Band? Hell's yes! I gotta admit, this one intrigues me the most. Specifically, Style #001: http://www.arizonask...ings/index.html

Some more cool ALL wood bands: http://www.etsy.com/shop/stoutwoodworks

How to Make a Ring out of a coin. Huh. Somewhere I read a woman said her and her husband did this and he made it where you could still see the year the coin was made and the word Liberty. Don't really want to do this, but I found it interesting and thought I'd share: http://www.wikihow.c...m-a-Silver-Coin

And even though I know I don't want one, I just found this to be badass: http://www.kinektdes...t-gear-ring.php

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm open to anything. Right now I want the meteorite one, but still not sure.

but seriously, i'd get the meteorite one or the copper inlay, but if i was to pick any ring i would probably just go with a solid gold band. i like the classics.

Thanks, Erica. Those are some nice rings. And yeah, can be found for very good prices. But I think I've ruled out the carbon fiber ones because I don't want something as modern. I want something that is more classic, yet unique. That's why I am hanging on the copper and meteorite ones as my favs. But I don't want to rule out the wood inlay ones just yet either. Shit, I want all three, haha.

Price range. Hm, well Brooke is buying it, lol. She said she would get the meteorite one for $595, but I told her that's way too much for a dude's ring. I'd say no more than $300. The meteorite ones can be found for much cheaper anyway. That was just a good site to show the different styles.

Sorry if this post is riddled with errors. At my grandma's house typing on the iPhone. Damn autocorrect.

Depending on how you feel about wearing your original wedding ring for the rest of your life, you probably would want to end up going with the metal. The wood is going to show normal damage from normal wear, assuming you wear your wedding ring all the time. If you're in construction or some other profession where you won't wear it daily, then the wood would be cool. Personally I think the meteorite rings are beautiful. Very nice take on classic simplicity, but you need to choose what you feel you're going to want on your finger for the next 30 years or more.

Simple and something that can be resized. Mine has to be recast... like buying it all over again. I am about to put a spacer on mine. I have a couple buddies that can't get theirs resized and one has lost a ton, one has gained a ton.

Good points. In fact, I had thought of them as well, something that I could wear all the time and would easily be able to resize. We went and got the gold band out of their lockbox at the bank. It's a wider solid gold band that is 100 years old, from my great grandparents. The guy that made Brooke's engagement ring is resizing it for me, which will cost $40. He said the gold is so pure he won't be able to match it with what they make today, but can get it close and polish it well enough it won't be that noticeable. While I was there, we also arranged to have Brooke's band made to match her ring. :)

Get something that's not going to look stupid anytime in the next 50 years.

Sorry, that came off a little harsh. I would worry about how the wood and copper would hold up over the decades.

Get the one that you can see yourself wearing everyday in every situation. But more importantly, get the curved inside thing that is more comfortable.

I really like the meteorite one too.

That looks really nice, Ashley. I dig it. I've already picked mine out, though. It can be resized, it's from the family, it's classic, and I can see myself wearing it everyday. :)

Holy shit! Somehow I missed 90% of this thread when I responded. Glad you got it sorted out.
