Will Formula 420 Cleaner Clean My Hoses?

Recommended Posts

I have two hoses and I'm pretty sure I can't run water through them so I was wondering if I could pour this stuff down the hose, shake it up a bit and have it come out cleaner than a chronic masturbator with a bad case of germaphobia and a whole lot of hand sanitizer. I have a real bad fear of addiction so I don't want to smoke anything the last owner left behind.

interesting analogy and no, i would NOT use formula 420.

Traditional hoses have a metal coil inside them. Some are wrapped in plastic giving you the ability to run water through them a few times but they ALL rust. You put any kind of liquid down your hose you have just shortened the lifespan of your hose. That stuff may as well be water. If you are that concerned, buy a new hose. If you use water, make sure it is cold as warm or hot water will dissolve the glue holding any plastic that may be wrapped around the coil in place,

again, just shell out the bucks for a new hose and be sure.

On another note, your city Buttsville, NY does not seem to exist when I do a quick Google search...

that's because it is made up

Yes yes, that is what I was implying. Also, that this MAY be a possible explanation:

EDIT: Do what, Stuie? Now I'm just hella confused...

To the original poster, if serious: Buy new hoses, like Mush said. Chances are you won't be able to wash them out and especially not with Formula 420 cleaner. Then take care of said new hoses. As Vimal said, Fancy or Nu Hoses are cheap and durable. Also washable.

haha SIlly NY people, but yah i'd just buy a new hose if it comes down to pouring bong cleaner down a hose if u feel like u need to clean it do as mush said but yah hoses are cheap if u want to get some for xtra and laying around for when the take a shit.

Hoses dont last for ever unless ur lucky like me i've had 2 mya hoses that i have had for over about 2 years and no chunks no smells no nothing but i have had others that just dont cut it for more then 3 months so take care of what u got or get more

I'm from Seattle. I just didn't see any reason to put my real city. And I don't really know what hoses I have. I got them from my roommate and he didn't even remember having a hookah until he moved all of his things to my house.

Seattle? Nice! I'm planning my honeymoon currently and we're wanting to take a cruise to Alaska that departs from there. :)

Can you post pics of all your hookah stuff? We'll be able to ID it for you. But yeah, if the hoses are rank and have been sitting around for forever, I'd just pitch them at this point. Probably not worth saving. In addition to the Nu/Fancy Hoses, I'd check out Razan, Nammor, and Khalil Mamoon as other options for new hoses.

If your not absolutely sure of the lifetime condition of those hoses, throw them away. Like stuie said they do not have a long life span anyway, and if any water was put through them at all they will be rusted.

In mid June.

That's a Chinese hookah with, like Stuie said, cheap Chinese hoses. Chinese hookahs can be hit or miss, but the hoses are pretty much always terrible.

Those are Pezon Hoses (aka Cheap Chinese Hoses) Good for about 3 months then toss.
Word, I'd toss and buy some Fancy Hoses.

i expect the folks who called "troll" to apologize now.

You'll see that I said he MAY be a troll. I didn't want to just outright call him a troll, because I didn't know for sure. DrWafflePants, I'm sorry that I said you might be a troll, but your city threw me off, haha. All good now, though. I can understand not wanting to put your real city on the Internet these days, and often times wonder to myself why I put my real one on here and other various places I go. I guess at this point everyone knows where I really live, so too late to do anything about it now.

Though there really is a Hicksville, NY on Long Island. I don't use my real town, but since I have a Philly PO box, I figure that's a good city (and a Google Voice phone number so I can give that out too).

Actually, I wouldn't throw away the hoses, just don't use them anymore. Keep them around for decor. Hoses are inexpensive enough that you can get a good new one rather than risk cooties from the previous owner (you don't know how well it was kept). You could use the 420 cleaner to clean the base if it hasn't been cleaned lately. I would give it a good cleaning anyway if it's been sitting around.

The tonic hose: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-9221-tonic-long-handle-washable-hookah-hose.html comes in red which would coordinate with your hookah nicely! I have Nammor hoses and like them very much.

Dear god there are so many quotes on here...

June and july are the best times to be in East Washington. Any other time and it's pretty depressing.

And no apologies are necessary. If I'm gonna be on the internet I got to expect to be insulted. It comes with the territory. I just learn to not notice them. Lol and troll is the probably the least insulting thing I've heard online. Edited by DrWafflepants

That's what I hear; best time to be up there. Granted, we'll only be there overnight on the 18th and then when we're back into the port and waiting for our flight home. Do you happen to know of a decent Best Western close to the airport? We're both employees of Best Western and plan on using our points we receive by signing up guests to our rewards program to pay for our room. I know I can easily look it up online, and will eventually, but figured I'd get some input from a guy who lives there and can tell me if it looks decent or not. I've been working in the hotel industry the past almost 6 years, so I know how easy it is to make a crappy hotel seem pretty good online. ;)

I didn't mean for you to feel insulted. The rest of the web aside, if you ever feel insulted HERE, you come to me or any of the other moderators, or Mushrat, the administrator, and we'll handle it. I admit I shouldn't have suggested you might be a troll; that was an error in judgement on my part. Thinking back now, I've seen weirder situations where the person ended up not being a troll whatsoever, and actually ended up contributing quite a lot to the forum. :)

The "fear of addiction" is an interesting comment - fear of contamination, fear of Hep C, fear of tetanus from ingesting rust maybe. You said that your friend didn't even remember having it ---- has it ever been used?

I wasn't insulted. It's just troll. Not a problem. :) And I don't live exactly in Seattle. I'm 2 hours north in a tourist town called Sedro-Woolley. I've been there a million times but not long enough to know where the hotels are. Sorry.

When I got it the bowl was full. Of course after cleaning it I can still taste it. I'm a pretty paranoid guy already but after seeing Requiem For A Dream I'm terrified of anything potentially addictive. I'm one of the only people in my group (scene?) who has never smoked a cigarette. And my town has nothing to do at all so all of the people here just get high so that's pretty remarkable.

This is not intended as an insult at all - but you might want to stay away from tobacco then and stick with herbal shisha if you really want to smoke something...
