If you keep the grommet on your hose tip while running water into the tip, the water will fall off the side well before it his the pom-pom thing keeping it nice and dry. Put one end of the hose in a sink filled with hot water then pull on the other end until water flows through, lower the end into something lower like a container or a bath tub and sit back while the hot water is siphoned through the hose.
