Willis
First hookah experience I went to a lounge with some friends who were long time smokers. We had pomberry by Starbuzz, and it was AMAZING to my untrained senses. I could still sort of taste the pomegranate the next day ( we smoked from 10pm until 2am, and I was up again at 8am for work). However, after I ordered my first Sahara smoke hookah online (it was around 16", a modern looking one), I managed to burn the shisha horribly (two quicklites, but hoovering the hose like nonstop) and get sick from oxygen deprivation (of course, at the time, I didn't know why). When I stood up, I managed to somehow have the hose of the hookah and the cord to my laptop sitting on the table tangled together. As I stumbled towards my bedroom door, I managed to drop both to my tile floor. Laptop survived, hookah base AND bowl didn't. Kept going to lounges and picked up all sorts of tips. Then bought a 3 hose modern hookah from hookah-shisha.com, and then about 2 months ago bought a km double pear. Both have lasted and still smoke wonderfully. I've definitely learned a lot. Epoch
I'd say the dumbest thing I did as a newbie was continuing to smoke hookah. I spent all night puking my guts out after my first session, but was still convinced hookah was awesome. No idea why!
KasbahBazaar
My biggest mistake was when I first started smoking Nakhla I would pack it loose like I would w/ AF or Starbuzz and it would end up being faint in flavor and torching pretty quickly. So for a while I wrote off Nakhla in favor of AF until about 3 years ago when an old Egyptian man introduced me to the correct packing of Nakhla and now I'm in love.
