alex.padmore
Does anybody know about/have experience with this pipe? I was looking at getting a new pipe, and thought that the Kamanja that Stuie reviewed here : http://www.hookahfor...post__p__494790 looked really nice, but in his review it is referred to as the 'Saffron' as opposed to 'Frost'. Are they equivilent only this one is newer, or is one better/worse than the other? Thanks.
Chreees
Khalil Mamoon doesn't really name their pipes. Most of them are named by U.S. importers or by the online retailers. This is why you'll see the same exact model have two or three different names sometimes. The pipe in question is most commonly known as a Kamanja Wheat. Where ever Stuie purchased his, it was called the Saffron, hence why he put that in his review. I have not personally owned one, but I have NEVER seen or heard a single complaint on it. I would feel safe saying you won't regret the purchase if you do decide to go with it. This is a very solid model, all brass. Can't go wrong. I say go for it! alex.padmore
cool, thanks. thats what i was hoping because the price I found for it is pretty sweet. ill hesitate for a bit but probably end up pulling the trigger!
Stuie
I still have mine. I love it. It's commonly known as the "Kamanja Wheat" H-S calls it "Saffron" Some other sites just call it "Kamanja"

alex.padmore
Thanks for the help guys. What do you think of setting it up with these? I cant decide between this tray or a plain brass one..? Stuie
Sweet setup. GET IT! I would get the brass tray. Would look better on the stem to me. But it's your pipe, so it's your decision. That stem is a beast.
alex.padmore
almost as soon as i posted i started thinking brass was better, so thanks for confirming!
mavsfan31
It's an awesome hookah. If you can find it, I'd recommend getting one with stars on the side. The hose port is a little bit bigger one those stems.
littlec
Khalil Mamoon doesn't really name their pipes.
Not true brotha, every pipe comes over with a name on the box from what I know. Also that's an awesome combo with the frosted white and gold jumbo and the gold trim tray (<<--- I actually have one of these on my double wheat kamanja)

I almost snagged one last year but thumbs down from the peanut gallery made me change my mind and I regret it. Thats a sweet setup - props to you
KasbahBazaar
The gold trim tray is beautiful of course, but IMO the brass tray looks more at home atop the Kamanja.

Chreees
Cool. Still though, KM pipes are often given different names by different vendors, but most of the time they'll have a common name we generally know them to be. In this case, the Kamanja Wheat (Wheat added so it is not confused with Kamanja Star, a totally different model).
Mahir
That's a nice hookah for sure! The KM Kamanja Wheat is a solid pipe and will smoke like a champ! I know this, because I had one ------------ Khalil Mamoon hookahs have model names given by KM. However, they are not written anywhere, on any box. That may have been done for an importer so that they could quickly take inventory of their merchandise, rather than hand inspect every stem. Most vendors re-name the models to their liking. If you look at all your favorite websites to buy KM's, you will see the same model hookah with multiple different names....some don't even have names and are simply called "2011 Quad Tone". I am sure KM didn't put 2011 Quad Tone on a box in Arabic for a vendor to roughly translate to English. That hookah (the newer version Tri-metal that is oxide) is called the Alem El Misr by KM. Also, do you think they called the OG-Tri, the OG-Tri? Some models, such as the Kamanja have the same names from KM as they do here in the USA. With the Kamanja, there are so many different styles, we as vendors use terms such as Wheat, Star, Laser Engraved Wheat, Double Wheat, etc to distinguish them from one another. The one in question here, is a Kamanja Wheat. I am assuming it is called "Frost" because of the vase choice this vendor has chosen to pair up with the KM stem. So the truth of the matter, yes, of course KM has names for their hookahs. However, they are rarely kept once they are for re-sale.
