â€On
Inspired by this topic, what is that one flavor of tangiers that you have never been able to get right, for whatever reason. For me, it's Classic Raspberry. It seems acclimatized because there is no bad smell, but it just doesn't smell like raspberries. It almost smells...dusty? I don't even know how to explain it. I mean, it smokes alright, nothing special, but it just doesn't taste like raspberries. It's super weak in the flavor department. Is it just my batch, or has anyone else had this same problem with it? I have tried all sorts of things to try and get it smoking right, but it just seems like I got a bad batch or something. MichaelLCP
Orange Soda. It always acclimates fine and smells great. But it is always super harsh for me. It is like, the most heat sensative flavor I have ever smoked. I just can get it. Maybe one day.
ahh yea fking orange soda....that flavor seems to just unacclimate itself as soon as its in the bowl. Exactly like you said smells fine but when you smoke that thing is crazy harsh. I always end up letting orange soda sit out the most.

My trouble flavors are Horchata because of heat sensitivity and Static Starlight because I can't get a really good grape flavor out of it over the florals. joytron
I always thought I couldnt get horchata to smoke right, but now I have come to the conclusion it just doesnt taste like horchata. I agree with you on Raspberry though, it was like smoking raspberry flavored water. Nice fluffy texture though.

It's more like Cinnamon Toast Crunch eaten with water instead of milk than Horchata.
hmm i Can't remember all the flavor notes when i had it, but I do remember cinnamon being the most intense. it stays their from inhale to exhale edit: I want to say that its not a straight cinnamon taste, its like that oat/grainy taste with Cinnamon Edited January 31, 2012 by king_lunchb0x

It's almost like the amount of flavor was made lighter, but the flavor itself was made darker, drier, more bland. I wonder as well if there are certain flavors that just smoke better in drier climates, because I have never had a problem with Orange Soda, in fact, I think it may have been the easiest to acclimatize and smoke for me. littlec
I've never purchased a flavor I couldn't acclimate, I have had a flavor from derek that wouldn't acclimate but I recall he was even having problems with keeping it acclimated in SD so that plus the different environment, I don't count that one as I'm sure I could have gotten it if it was acclimated to only one place. Epoch
Green Tea with Honey was a huge pain in the ass for me. After attempting to acclimate it and getting awful results for over a week, I just gave up and shelved it. ....Months later, I opened up the container and it was perfect. Only time I've ever had an issue.

I put them up on a shelf for a month or 2 and just opened them the other day and they tasted good. Raspberry was sweet, but not sure if I would call it raspberry. Sour Grape...was also sweet, not grape to me but the sour I think threw it off for me and could only smoke so much before I had to stop. I was talking to a guy here and he spoke with Eric (since we had some varying things with our tangiers and didn't think we had to acclimate it) and Eric had told him that some people acclimate it too much. Maybe that's some of our problems. Edited January 31, 2012 by DrSmokes
Judy Oma
Pineapple and Pear. Pineapple is super finicky regarding humidity according to Eric's product info, and I can only get it to work in the summer in NE Ohio when the weather is more consistent - but SO worth the wait for that brief window of opportunity Pear is also difficult but will work for me in the winter - I have been know to crank up the heat in my drafty old house to dry things out just to be able to enjoy it for a few days at a time.
