Considerations For Rotator Hookah?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Experienced hookah fan here who plans to buy a rotating hookah. I have limited experience with them, and can't seem to find many in-depth reviews or rotators with more than one or two ratings. I'd love to hear your feedback and experience.

Here's what I'm looking for:

Good cooling and easy draw for solo and dual-hose smoking

Ability to have 3 (maybe 4?) total hoses with automatic stoppers; one convertable to release valve

360 degree rotation and difficult to tip over

Larger, but able to sit on a table without blocking view (28-32")

High-quality and durable enough to handle lots of travel and almost daily smoking

I'm not concerned much with cost
Here are two specific models I'm looking in to:

I know rotators aren't the best for 1-2 hoses, but the ability to have a release valve and extra hoses is appealing to me. Plus I like the look of a rotator. I just have no way of comparing quality and smokability.

What brands are the highest quality? Ones that won't leak and won't rust? What other considerations should I make when looking into them? What are your expriences or horror stories with rotator setup, maintenance, smokability, etc? Let's hear your stories! Edited by Uber_Nick

Things to consider.

1) If it has more than one hose, then the rotator function is worthless. You can't coordinate a rotation without massive shaking of the bowl.

2) All rotators have a common issue the stem getting stuck on the base since it screws on and they aren't perfectly water tight.

One of the most popular and well-rated rotators around. http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-3696-old-school-rotator-nammor-hookah-package.html

That said, it doesn't have any multi-hose function.

these hookahs are usually a fail all around the rotator never works right, if u have large croud u are usually best off just having 2-3 hookahs, plus thebowl BURNS! but yah we have a mya acrylic that has 4 ports on the stem and we have 3 hoses init sometimes but not to often do we do that. also the valves that have the bearing in it get stuck a lot and they dont seal right when u want them to so it makes it worst handing the hose doens't takemuch work, i do not recomend them
