no one important
im just hoping to have to acclimate less, to not have to do it all is too good to be true for me. I just dont want to have to do 1-3 days of 4/20 over and over again. If it helps speed it up to just 1 session maybe 2 hours open that would be great!
Well that's what I did kinda, while the first bowl right out of the bag was good, it was kind of lacking maybe a little flavor, maybe gave a little throat tickle, so all I did was leave it open for 2 hours, stirring each hour then sealed, woke up 8 hours later and unsealed and it was absolutely perfect. Matto
Just got done trying this out with Noir Strawberry-Kiwi. Living in MO with our bi-polar weather I have acclimation issues from time to time. I've never been able to smoke straight after opening the package, but I'm happy to say after massaging the packaged tobacco for 3mins I opened it up and put it into my tupperware, and it smelled right. I went ahead and loaded a bowl, the smoke was pretty good. Just a little off from how it is after acclimating 4/20 style for a day or two. I think this will definitely help lessen the acclimation time, or eliminate it if we're having a nice day! Woot!

After I did the whole squishing thing, I still emptied it into a tupperware afterwards and stirred for a couple hours (once an hour two hours) then covered, came back to it 8 hours later and even better. I just had success with indian summer (noir) and kashmir f-line.
ryno
I tried it with some Noir Cocoa and Static Starlight last night. Both were good to smoke right away. Next to try is Kiwi-Strawberry

ryno
Just opened up the Strawberry Kiwi with this method and it was also instantly acclimated. This seems to be working for me pretty well. I usually had one of two things happen with Tangiers and acclimating: 1) It would be fine right out of the bag and always be good to smoke or 2) It would bounce back and forth so much between being acclimated and not, that it would never smoke good. Thankfully 9 times out of 10 it was the first.

Two days ago I tried this method with BGB noir exactly as i had done with my others, but when i oppened it all i got was a soy smell. Did 4/20, oppened to check and still deffintiley was not done. Last night I decidided to leave it open for 5 hours, stirriing about 1-1.5 hours and now sealing it until i get home today at 4. If it's not done then i'll probably have to reset its humidity cause usually acclimating in vegas is no problem, weather is steady 50 degrees all day and night. mattarios2
Interesting, I should try this method as Tangiers has always been a problem for me. I still can't believe the winter we have been having here, been so warm, only had legit snow two times. Very odd winter for us in MA.

twoapplesplease
So if it wasnt vaccume sealed it wouldnt need acclimating? I know what Im doing when it comes to tang...just curious...cause I have seen all ends of the acclimation spectrum first hand
navy876
Call me an idiot/Lazy man. But I hear MANY good comments about Tangiers Shisha. The only thing that keeps me from purchasing anything to do with Tangiers. IS the fact that I have to literally baby-sit the Tobacco. I dont like the fact that it requires extra carrying for. mavsfan31
Worked for me. Some flavors had to acclimate longer (the ones with less humidity resistance, no surprise). I plan on always doing this with future packs.

It would acclimate pretty slow since the tobacco would obviously be sealed to some degree. At least that's what I figure...
It's worth it, and its really not that bad as far as acclimating. I just acclimate once, and then in the future I set it out maybe 15-30 minutes before and its good. If it's raining or something, I"ll just smoke Nakhla or one of the few lucid flavors that I have around that has good humidity resistance.

Barnaby
Well, after not smoking hookah for a good year, I put in an order the other day to start restocking the stash. Got me some Nakhla Sweet Melon, Tangiers - Summer Solstice Celebration, and 2 new birquq flavors, k. peach, and now with melon. The new ones shouldn't need acclimation anyways, but I'm going to kneed them just the same. I'll give this a whirl on teh summer solstice and see what happens when I don't acclimate at all. Webbles
All tangiers requires acclimation. Birquq and Lucid as well. It just takes some lines faster to acclimate than others. The instant acclimation method helps greatly to reduce acclimation time. Ive been able to kneed the package and smoke a bowl right away without having to acclimate, but the next day or the next time i open my container, it will require some acclimation, usually takes about an hour or so for me. And Navy876 - I feel ya, tangiers does require alot of extra care and preparation. You almost have to plan well in advance when you want to smoke. But when your willing to put in that kinda time - its well worth that effort. For all those OTHER times - you got Nakhla
Pavo21
Because Tangiers is a more natural product with more volatile flavorings, I've always stored in in squeezed down baggies inside plastic tubs. So pulling out the baggie and squishing it around has always been my mixing method. Plus living 2 hours north of where it's made, acclimation has never once been an issue for me. I was always astonished when people said they had a hard time with Tangiers because it smoked perfectly for me from the first bag Eric ever gave me. So maybe the "coincidence" of it working so well for me has to do with the way I just happen to store and use it. Nice to know there might be some science behind it instead of just dumb luck. It seams the mixed fruits had to go thru the full acclimation process for me. edm
