grock
Well with the wind-guard, its kind of a quad metal. -Copper -Brass -Silver -Gold (Windcover) Anyway, Ive had my baby for about half a year now. Scooped it from Mahir. LOVE it, definitely a big step up from my MYA hookah. Im pleased with its performance with the Tangiers small and Nammor hose. Finally decided to snap some decent shots of it. This is just after cleaning it with some barkeepers friend. It was pretty nasty before, but man, that stuff works well!!! gramps
The thing I worry about when you have dissimilar metals in contact with each other is accelerated corrosion. Has anybody noticed it happening yet?
Judy Oma
The thing I worry about when you have dissimilar metals in contact with each other is accelerated corrosion. Has anybody noticed it happening yet?
I wondered this same thing and just decided in my head that the welding compound btwn the diff metals was going to deter any affects btwn them. I have a double heart tri, wanted the one you have but got impatient a year ago and pulled the trigger on the double heart. Btwn stainless and copper there should be no interaction, and I'm thinking the same is true for stainless and brass. If this is true, no prob for the OG. On the double heart I have, brass and copper are smacked up next to each other with a decent bead between, so IDK there - too lazy at the moment to look into it, does anyone know offhand? grock
Hmm never heard of the accelerated corrosion. Although, I believe if this were true, we would have heard something about it by now. Regardless, I'll let you know if I see anything going a-rye. Oh and by the way, Judy, is it stainless steel? I assumed it was silver or something; Im ignorant. Thanks for the kind words!

gramps
As long as the two metals touching each other are the right ones, there's nothing to worry about. A list of anodic and cathodic metals can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galvanic_corrosion We deal with this all the time on my job. Jerry Martinez
Very nice hookah! I'm relatively new to hookah, I was wondering where did you get your hose? I really like the design and I want to get a hose like that. Is it washable?
grock
Thanks errybody! The hose is known as a Khalil Mamoon "Rainbow" hose, and unfortunately, it is not washable. I actually got it for free with my order from NazarHookah because of a serious delay in the vase. Worth the delay though.
