Do you put Lemons or Limes in your base?

I always do it. & Im curious on who else does. ^.^

I use only water in my base, but I'm sure lemons/limes would add a lot of citrus notes.

i do put limes in my water but i use my magic bullet and grind it to shreds and then i get hot watter and that mix in the vase to clean it but not to smoke out of it, it removes smells and stains SUPER QUICK

Pavo, that sounds like it works amazingly well. Going to have to try that sometime. Nothing like a fresh and citrusy-clean hookah!

yah it works really well it doen'stj ust like hide the smell it takes it away due to the acid levels in the lime all i do is cut it in half and blend that beach, and drop it all in

Its a very traditional thing to do. Especially from back before flavoured tobacco. say pre 1986.

Ya know, i found a great way to clean my hookah and that's tossing a few denture cleaner tablets into the base and filling it up with water and letting it sit. ALL of the smell goes away.

I have not put lime in my base and smoked with it, but it sounds really good.

On another forum, i was reading that a few people would take an orange peel or two and actually mix it in with the tobacco. has anyone done this?

Few drops of Lemon Juice on the shisha is what I do. Lemon thing I do if i have them. I like but I don't either much any more.

I laways do this, I love lemon, lime and orange shisha, so i just go out to my back yard, pick one of the corresponding fruits and squeeze the juice in and then put the whole fruit in the vase. It adds a nice extra burst of flavour.

If I'm in the kitchen cooking I'll put the squeezed lemons in the base. I haven't done it in awhile but I'm not opposed. It all ends up in the compost anyway.

never tried it. Only time I have lemon/limes in the house anyways is when its taco/burrito night.

When I smoke a mix of Nakhla Manderin, Orange, and Lemon, I tend to cut up Lemons and Limes and throw them in. Its a citrus overhaul and tastes fantastic.

your poll choices are very limited, I do it sometimes but not always cos I just dont always feel like doing all that work for some citrusy aroma

Never tried it. I've cleaned my vase out with lemon water though...but never tried lemons or limes in the vase and smoked. I might have to give that a go while smoking ILTOBC.
