DrSmokes
So, I ordered a hose a while back and really haven't used it. I tried it a lil bit ago and it had a plastic taste to it. I thought I could wash it out with some lemon juice and let it sit but it hasn't taken the taste out. I've also tried smoking some flavors in it that are potent and tend to ghost but it hasn't fixed this problem. Has anyone else had this happen? BTW, it's a Nammour hose. mustang67n
When I first got my Razan hose in, it had the same plastic-y taste to it. It went away after 10 or so 1-2 hour smoke sessions.

joytron
Baking soda works well.
MichaelLCP
Baking soda works well.
Yeah I would go with Jess and try baking soda. If nothing helps, just stick it out, it will go away.
Judy Oma
I hate that taste worse than anything - lemon juice works, leave it in the hose for a bit. After going thru a good bit of lemon juice I began accumulating leather hoses.

Skoozle
This is why I always buy used hoses in the trades section

Floataround
I always break my new hoses in with Nakhla, always seems to do the trick after a few pulls. Edited March 3, 2012 by Floataround
DrSmokes
Thanks guys, I'll give a few of these suggestions a try.
mattarios2
All suggestions are good. Nakhla does break in a hose quicker than other shishas, it does tend to ghost hoses more than other brands. As stated baking soda does work well, so does lemon juice or tonic/club soda. Honestly, shouldn't last too long.
