PurpleSmoke
Has anyone ever tried the electronic coals? I've seen these around every once in a while, but I can't seem to find any really good information on them... Apparently they run off a low amount of electricity and eliminate CO from the coals. I'm thinking between that and my lite shisha that it would be a bit healthier than coals are... but then again, I don't know much xD Heres a link to one on amazon, anyone think they are worth it? Any information on it would be appreciated http://tinyurl.com/84gofgf
Epoch
I don't think anyone here would recommend them... General consensus is: They don't heat the way real coals do. The electric burner gives steady heat, and charcoal sits cooler while it idles and hotter when you puff. Also, it's very large, which would make heat management harder than having several small coals.

I figured it would be hard to create something that would sit idle but heat up quickly when you inhale, but I couldn't find any information anywhere that said whether it did or didn't. Thanks for confirming it.
angy
I used one last night for the first time with stones. Took about 8 minutes to heat the stones without using foil. Worked great.
â€On
If someone gave me one for free, I would try it. But, as a few have said already, it really isn't the best thing to be using. There is a reason most of us use natural charcoals.
Pavo21
i would avoid it just use coals.
