Hookahs From A Makers Perspective

Recommended Posts

so I was looking around to see if anyone carried those Syrian style leather beater hoses anymore and on a yahoo search this link pops up

http://www.digitalbridges.eu/?p=8112

pretty interesting, I would love to see their hookah and hoses from 10 years ago. I thought the elmas of today were great..they must have been super epic then. And I think its elmas because second pic looks like their style stem and nor purge vavle...i could be wrong

Syrians still make hookahs that have marble in/on them.

If anyone finds marble hookah hoses for sale, send them my way!

But in all seriousness, this post makes me very sad. No connoisseur wants to see craftsmanship going downhill...

In that last pic, of the market store, all the hookahs in the picture look like low quality chinese style. I don't see anything that looks like a turkish style

The bottom shelf has the chinese crap but the pipes on the top shelf look like "mini" turkish or syrian. In the Middle East the only popular Chinese made is the Mya and mainly Lebanese people like it because it is Lebanese. All the hookah bars and resturaunts use large Egyptians or Syrians for the durability and looks.
