Recommended Posts

So everytime I've seen this thread I feel so grateful that I haven't had anything broken in over a year.

Then this happened:

Checked around locally but no luck so I will be emailing him. I figure at the very least I can pay to have one made I'm hoping!

So sad....

First hookah related thing broken after about two years of owning my own gear. :(

Fell out of my hand mid-packing, landed 2 feet below on my table, Had foil and holes all punched, but to see one side of the foil caved in gave me a disgusting feeling inside.

Luckily, I still have my crown Micro, but I will be ordering another Tangiers Small soon!!!!

I always get sad when I see Tangiers bowls broken but especially smaller smalls.

Yeah, it's like they're old WWII vets and they're all dying off... Love my old small!

Dave and Clayton... We need pics of the first-ever broken Pico! Such a damn shame...

I broke my friends phunnel (chinese) bowl just last week. I was stirring up some shisha and bumped it. The worst part was just 5 minutes earlier I was giving him grief for breaking a bowl.

The good news is I replace his knock off phunnel with a real one. :)

Id have replaced his knock off with a knock off. Why sacrifice your real deal for soemone who got a rip off in the first place. But yes, you are clearly a good hookah friend. :)

My very first tangiers phunnel. She had a good run, was faithful and always delivered. I salute you Phil (yes, this bowls name was Phil).

Haha, he looks guilty as fuck.

No beggin strips for you, good sir!

Note to self: Never buy a Tangiers bowl from Ty... It will have black crust built up on the rim due to not cleaning the bowl quick enough after smoking each time. :P

I am confused. If you clean a clay bowl right after smoking, wouldn't it pose a risk of the bowl cracking due to the sudden and drastic change in temperature?

Well, your bowl gets that crust buildup from letting the tobacco stay cooked on there for too long, i.e. leaving your pipe setup overnight or whatever after you are done smoking. I have always cleaned my bowls within 30 minutes of having finished smoking. This is why all of my phunnels look like new. Including that Crown Micro Phunnel I sold you- Didn't it look brand new when you got it from me? That was simply from cleaning it shortly after smoking. ;)

As for cracking, I'm not sure. Hasn't been an issue for me. These are the oldest bowls I own, a 2008 Small and a 2009 Mini:

As you can see, clean as a whistle. :)

Posting pics of your bowls? That's soo unlike you Chris! :P (J/k, I love seeing the pics of your stuff.)

And yes, the bowl I got from you had an unbelievable "unused" look. It was seriously as good as new! I also almost always clean mine right after smoking, but it still develops a brown film overtime. Luka did mention once that tang comes off the bowl easily compared to something like AF, which I have noticed too, so that may also be affecting it. :)

@Tyler: Damn, can't even say anything to someone with those eyes. :D
