540dude
So I went to wash my hookah for the first time and after I rinsed it out with water I went to smoke it. Now it taste and smells like the goo/gunk they use to hold the pieces together like the stem. Was I not supposed to wash it? How do I get rid of this? mustang67n
Many times new pipes have a mild flavor in them during the first few smokes. I think it's just from the metals being fresh.

mustang67n
oh.. it was the first time you've washed it?!?! Most of us wash our pipes after every use. The problem very well could be that you haven't washed it yet then.
Skoozle
Ideally your stem would be welded together or cast as one piece. The fact that you suspect that it is glued together tells me you should start thinking about an upgrade. Wash it as good as you can and try to locate the source of the smell. Good luck! Post some pics when you get a chance.
