making diffusers out of household items

Recommended Posts

alright guys... i've read alot about diffusers from this forum... and even know i question their usefullness... i really like thick smoke but i dont like harshness i dont even know if this diffuser thing is for me... but ill give it a shot. now the best looking one i saw on this forum was this big rubber thing that had holes in it... but it was obscure... it was taken from some kid science kit lol. What in your opinion is the best item to make a diffuser out of... that you can find in the house? and how can you tell if your diffuser is... "working"Cheers
The "bottle rocket" out of a bottle of Guinness Stout.  you cut the blunt end off and drill hiles in tapered end. Warm up the cut end with a lighter to make it soft and slip in on your stem.
what do you mean? are you talking about the ball bearing inside of guiness?

no. get the 6 pack of bottles, the cans have widgets (ball shape). The bottles have bottle rockets.1. Drink the Guinness2. Break the bottle (put bottle in three plastic shopping sacks then drop the bags on concrete. Retreive "bottle rocket)3. Make the diffuser.

someone used a floating widget though if i remember correctly.Yeah, mouthtips seem logical though. Someone went all the way and welded an extra bit of metal on with holes in it for a diffuser once didn't they?

Well, you can use a hot pin... I used one of those cheap steak knives from Wal-Mart I got when I moved to college... Use my butane lighter to heat the end, poke a hole... repeat... and then stick it in the end of the hookah... I'll have pics up in about 3 minutes.

I've had good results with a spring from a mechanical pen/pencil folded in half and then stuck inside the downstem on other smoking devices, it's more of a 1 time use thing though because they'll rust if they stay wetjust heat up a paperclip and poke holes in a mouthtip

Tip works great... you don't know how wierd it was the first time I put it on... It seemed to open up the air flow a bit *notice I have an open ended tip, not something like a pen cap which is closed off*, but it was so much more friggin quiet. Even with ice in the base.
