Hookah Problems...

Recommended Posts

Ok so, first off I am fairly new to hookahs. I mean I have smoked with them for awhile, but am just now getting into having a hookah. I thought it was easy, but I have run into a problem. I took my hookah to a party last night, and when I got back to my dorm the ball bearing was gone. Today, after cleaning the hookah I plugged up the hole where the ball bearing should have been with paper towel. Then I started a new bowl, and its was weirdly harsh... I say weirdly because its not the harsh that normally happens, it was different. What could be going on here? Thanks in advance.

Yet again here is a cheap solution I discovered for those with ball bearing issues

This is a little water ballon just on the port it seals and purges like a champ and you get like 100-200 for like a dollar

Just buy a new ball bearing or ask for a free one (may people on the forum have extras they can send to you) not a huge issue, but you will run into problems if you want to purge it and a paper towel is stuck plugging the hole!)

Another thing for future reference, make sure to watch your hookah at a party... when I was in college some dumbass put my hose on top of my tray at a party (when an old coal happened to be chillin, just dying on its last leg) and so naturally after 5 minutes there, my hose had a giant indent for the 3 years of its use...

People think hookahs are cheap toys, and youll find without a careful eye, a random group of people can easily break it.

I just wanted to let everyone know we stole the purge off of my old hookah and it's working perfectly at this point. The only annoyance is that we have to cover up where the original purge was with paper towel since the hookah had a male end just like my old hookah's purge. But everything is working fine now. :)

That party was an annoyance to me.. The minute I bring my hookah in I ask someone who was sitting at a table to place it on the table. And what do they do? They drop my damn base. >:/

Never ask anyoen to do anything with your hookah. :)

for a Mya a 1/2 inch ball bearing will also work. I found a small hardware store here that sells them for .25 a piece. Check your local area.

1/2 inch sounds big. You could also seal it up with some plastic kitchen wrap and don't burn the bowl.

airsoft bb's FTW. they don't rust, no matter how much you forget to clean the purge :D

and, if i'm at a party, with my hookah, i stand guard with my .45. someone jacks with my hookeh, i shoot they pinky toe off!
