Gaia Coals?

So with the 12% off H-S bday sale, I figured I could stock up on some coals. I typically have always went with CCN, but after talking with their support (who's likely bias btw), I was wondering about the Gaia coals. I didn't see them in the reviews section and only 2 posts that have somewhat reviewed them which didn't give me the big picture on these things.

For those who have tried, do you like them? How do they compare to CCN? Do they smell when lighting? Any coal taste when ashing? How's the heat management with it?

The support guy said that he ranks them just barely above CCN and with a lower price tag, I am trying to give them a good look before buying. He also said there is no smell when lighting and no taste when ashing, so I would just like confirmation on that.

Can't edit...now I think I'm going to get some Razan coals since Mahir has a decent special going on with them (buy 3 get 1 free)...plus cheap shipping since I live in FL. =)

honestly I've been meaning to try them but haven't gotten around to ordering them(i dont know if they increased box size but that was what disuaded me from a purchase, small amount boxes of coals when I'm looking for a kilo box)

I haven't heard anything about Gaias, but maybe Stuie can tell ya. I think he's tried them, but perhaps hasn't posted a review yet. Not sure.

Definitely can't go wrong with the Razans. Only coals I've been using as of late.

Aren't H-S themselves behind the Gaia coals? Don't quote me but I am pretty sure they are. By the way, it's more than likely that the support guy you talked to has never even smoked a hookah.

I have gone through a couple boxes just in casual use, not really in review mode lately, but they have no smell, and burn just like CCN, I don't think I would put them above CCN but definetly on the same level as CCN Flats. I ordered 5 of the big packs last week.
