Polish Yo Br(ass)!

Recommended Posts

Always good to keep your stuff nice and spiffy... but this thread shall focus on my brass, not my ass. :)

The taller Syrian shank was polished couple weeks ago, but I I touched it up in some spots that I apparently missed. I think I was too excited first time I polished it.

The Nawras I removed the old gasket and electrical tape that was underneath and polished it completely. It hasn't been done ever since the initial polish I did when I got it. After washing it off and drying, I placed one of the new ribbed gaskets on it. The third gasket you see pictured will go on my KM OG Trimetal when I get time to polish it and remove its old gasket and tape. I friggin' love these gaskets. Only ones you ever need. Fit any shank/vase combo. Thanks for helping me out on those, Ashley!

I even went as far as to polish all of my bowl adapters, male and female (thanks to Ashley for those as well), and the purge caps... even the ball bearings.

Feels good to have nice, sparkly brass.

Sometimes i polish mine but i think i like the old school look of brass unpolished better. Prob bc after like a week it looks unpolished again bc where i live it gets super humid for six months out of the year. It also depends on my mood after a while of unpolished when you polish it you feel like you have a whole new hookah which is pretty sweet.

How long does it take to polish your tower?

I have 5 pipes that need polishing and I need to know what I'm getting into.

P.S. your upside-down trumpet looks like an almost finished glass of beer.

Ashley- takes me about 10-15 minutes I'd say. That's just my best judgement of time; haven't actually ever clocked myself while doing it, haha. It also really depends on if you have gunk or patina to remove, or if the pipe is already relatively clean, just needing a quick shine.

Haha, yeah, the peacock trumpet was upside down to dry out. I had just smoked a nice bowl of Tangiers Now With Melon (flavor will fuck your mind, btw) before my little polishing session. ;)

Yeah, Ashley... I need to go get some beer. I'm all out. :(

Oh, 10-15 ain't that bad. I'm going to try to give all my pipes a good shine this weekend.

Get yourself a cheap papertowel holder to dry your vase on, especially if you are going to insist on fist pumping.

You won't likely find one tall enough to support the 14" trumpet but with a good wide and maybe weighted base, it will prevent it from falling over.
