Chronic Hookah Ql's

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. Has anyone used these? and if so are they good? do they leave flavor and what not? I know that John put a vid out but i was just seeing if i should buy these or Golden Canary again. thanks all.

Theyre easily the best quick lights around. John released these years ago, so threads discussing them are buried in pretty deep which is probably why it was difficult to find for you.
And dont hesitate to ask questions if you have em. Some people fail to remember that were all here to help each other out, and just choose to make "smart" comments instead.

I don't always use quicklights, but when I do...

Did I miss something about these? I used these for the first time this past weekend, they were terrible. Horribly flavored my session. Used them with multiple brands of Tobacco, from SB, to Tangiers. Made me miss my 3 kings QL's. We tried both the CH quick lights and the CH nat's, both left the smoke tainted with an odd taste. Did I get a bad batch or something? The ash was very gritty, and came off looking like cat litter, as opposed to the very fine ash that comes of my cocomazayas.

No insult taken. But yes they were completely lit. Cherry red on all sides, Also didn't seem to last very long. A half hour at best.

I've read a lot of reviews and comments abouth the bad smell when lighting ans some about the bad taste. I got a bunch of them in a trade and tried them over Easter when I was lighting coals outside. They stink when lighting even outside on a windy day. I wouldn't light these inside. They didn't have a bad taste when I smoked with them. the beer may have covered up the coal taste though.

Oh the smell is awful I use them outside. Taste is slight, least i have had with Quicklights. I think Golden is the next best quicklight if that tells you anything.

These were my QLs of choice, but they still taint the flavor quite noticeably. I really like Deezer now, traditional QL shaped, and SMELL LIKE HELL when being lit, but once lit they have the least smell or taste of any QL, including John's

HJs formula is changing all the time, if you have had them in the past or are reading an old review that info is probably irrelevant. He is on his 3rd version which I think he came out with about a year ago?

interesting, i have heard about deezer but i think imma try john's just to see since they are different from the traditional coals and the fact that they are made out of pressed coconut and not from whatever deezer is
